If you said to me at the start of the season that by Rd6 I could trade Rowell and Bewley to Whitfield and Yeo and it would only cost me $80-90k I would have taken it and run.. so probably what I am gonna do..?

As tempting as it is to get rid of a Viney, Rozee or Redman...
I will be trading Rowell to Whitfield and money goes into the bank.Unreal.
Then Allows Starcevich to Ridley.

After last weeks horror show, starting to feel bit more confident with the team.

Do you want Ridley this season? If so, probably best to get him now with his breakeven.

If not, Lloyd is a great trade and can't see you getting him much cheaper. Likely to be a top 2 defender by the end of season, and therefore from here on in.

I am hoping to end with Lloyd, Docherty, Laird, Hurn, Daniel....

Then any cheap fallen premium (I thought Ridley was still too risky last week and still not 100% sold, regardless I have missed him as a mid price break out candidate)
Thanks mate. They are the 5 I have pencilled in too. If I go down the Lloyd route, I will have Doch, Hurn and Lloyd, with Doedee, B Williams, Young on field with Brander, Rivers/Stars DM. So on field scoring should be ok hopefully till upgraded. Value seems to be the go this year though, but I'm a bit stubborn with a GnR approach.

Bit of a morale dilemma going on between Menegola and Yeo. My two trades are looking like:

Budarick & Rowell OUT
Aarts & Menegola IN

Ranked 142 overall, very excited about how I’ve gone so far and I’ve never really gone with the pack and like having some PODs. Yeo is perhaps the safer pick however I’ve got this big urge to pick Menegola after watching him play on the weekend/ hunch I have! Leaves me 140 odd thousand in the kitty. Another downgrade next week and I can look towards upgrading Pittonet/ Starcevich/ Smith.
Without seeing your team, my advice would be slightly different. Don’t leave the money in the bank, get the best premium option you can, particularly if you close off a negative pod. great ranking, keep it up!!!

I hear you.
Spent all my SC years doing the GnR approach, so this year it's quite a challenge to deviate and follow a different path.

Hoping the added flexibility will help in future SC years.

Everyone passing on a forward under 400k who has gone: 98, 87, 7, 93, 91

Obviously heavily reduced price due to one injury affected game, pretty consistent otherwise. Presume everyone thinks averaging 90 as a forward is a touch short of good enough?
Who’s that....?

Got Dahlhaus in my draft team and he has been solid without being spectacular.

He's not the worst option if looking for a budget forward but Whitfield is obviously cheap for those who don't have him plus Bailey Smith will be very cheap soon too. Both appear to be better picks.

Whitfield and Smith appear to be the reason every is ignoring (maybe the fact everyone is carrying Smith too).

However, when I see countless people talking about having compromised D6/M8 and F6. A bloke averaging 90 at 370k seems ok?

Apologies - 385k, averaging over 90 when taking out the 1 injured game.

I think everyone is set on Whitfield and putting out other fires, was just an alternate view which I am surprised hasn't come up.
Yeh not many took notice at his price with the low average not knowing that injured game was in there.
He has had some easier opponents so the next 2 weeks will be interesting viewing.
Now you have alerted everyone on this haha.

Great pick up , definitely worth consideration

Currently running with Butler , Heeney , Greene , Ceglar & TJL in my forward line with D Smith & Whitfield (after trades) in my mids , hoping to turn Taylor into Bailey Smith in a few rounds , so not sure if I need anyone else at this stage.

Are you looking to trade him in ?

Looking at Yeo for Rowell.

Why has he been playing so bad? 3 scores 71 and under from 5 games isn't just underperforming, it's shockingly awful. Any injury concerns there?

Rowell and pitto out
Gawn and Aarts in

Thoughts?
I like this a lot and have been thinking the same, maybe a touch early on pitto but has done his job, Gawn hitting 150s too ard to ignore.

My backline will be in shambles though with Stracevich at D3, albeit Whitfield at M7 and D Smith at F7.

Considering it.

I have Walter, Heeney, Whitfield.

Will obviously target Bailey Smith, and likely Dusty.

Likely to not look for the POD, accept Devon Smith at F6 is similar to Dalhaus, save a trade and focus elsewhere
