The AFL is looking at the possibility of shorter breaks between games to enable a few extra matches to be squeezed in over coming weeks, then having a break in the lead up to finals. Can see a lot of players being rested if this fixture squeeze happens.
The whole idea of another break is insane IMO, unless forced. Players lose conditioning and soft tissue injuries tend to rise as a result. I really hope this is knocked on the head quickly.

We'll probably end up with BBL style format if that eventuates. Best 18 with just 2 trades a round and the inevitable resting/injuries are going to decimate everyone's team at some point.
Donuts will have to be expected as par for the course and the good coaches will keep building their teams. Donuts are never nice but even during a normal year I think coaches panic way too much trying to avoid a donut.
Agree with the others above, sounds like BBL to me. Basically requires significantly more focus on ST fixture nuances and much less on building towards full premo. Takes some adjusting to, but not that hard with good advice.
