The interstate sides would have a far greater chance of doing this than any Melbourne club I would think
All interstate teams have played every team out of Victoria and I don't even have to look it up.

If you abstract it to home state, then I don't think any of the interstate clubs have played a local derby outside of their state.

Yep. That's what I was thinking too - fairly sure all the interstate teams have only played the other team from their state in their home state.

Should have quoted my source for the original fact, it came from an article on the Hawthorn website that they publish each week, usually has some interesting facts like that.

Holds true even for defunct clubs - they never played University and they played Fitzroy in Hobart.

However Hawthorn isn't the first team to play all current teams outside their home state. NM completed the set on the weekend, with Essendon their last.

North were the team I thought was most likely to have done it.

I was thinking Melbourne and St Kilda as well, but it turned out North and Richmond were the only Victorian teams to have played Collingwood outside of Victoria until last weekend - and Richmond has only played a handful of other Victorian teams outside of Victoria.

From the above link...

"While it was initially expected that Round 8 onwards would see games crammed together, it‘s now understood Rounds 9-12 will be played across three weeks to condense the season."

So it seems each team will now play 4 games over 3 weeks. That makes it a bit better with teams only playing 1 extra game over the period... But still don't know how SC will handle the situation. Perhaps when a team plays 2 games in a week... you get the highest of the 2 scores.

Fremantle is set to tackle Geelong in a blockbuster Monday night clash at Optus Stadium, according to Fox Footy.

The AFL is expected to announce the round eight fixtures tonight, with the Cats firming as the Dockers’ opponent, meaning West Coast will tackle Collingwood.

The round robin opponent swap comes following this Sunday’s round seven western derby, while Collingwood and Geelong face off this Thursday night.

As a result, the round nine fixtures would see the Eagles tackle Geelong and Fremantle come up against the Pies in the final round of the first WA hub.

Carlton and the Western Bulldogs are expected to be announced as the next Victorian-based clubs to head west.

“What we’re hearing is like everyone else, that Carlton and the Bulldogs are next in line,” Fremantle CEO Simon Garlick told 6PR this morning.
“The easiest way to look at it is a process of elimination, the sides that neither us or West Coast have played this year, and those who haven’t played each other (are next).

“The AFL wants to get them over to play three games basically so I know Richmond are part of that group, North Melbourne as well so we’re hearing probably what you guys are at the moment that Carlton the Bulldogs are the next cabs off the rank.”

Round eight is expected to run from Thursday July 23 through to Monday July 28, while rounds nine to 12 will be played across three weeks to condense the season.

So it looks Carlton & Western Bulldogs are the next 2 clubs coming to Perth followed by Richmond & North Melbourne.

So who would Freo/WC play while Carlton and the Bulldogs are in quarantine for 2 weeks? Or have I missed something?

Reckon the only way it can work is if they bring Carlton & Bulldogs over at the same time as Richmond and North... Bring 4 teams over at once as Carlton has just played the Dogs. Just bringing the Dogs and Carlton over will not work.
