Forward options seem to be limited.

Rocky and daisy are locks if still MPP.

I think Nicnat and buddy are probably the next best options.
Daisy wont be getting a gig in my side. He dosnt look like getting out on the park to late in the preseason.
Biggest lock for me in forwards in Dusty Martin. I don't think your playing the game right if you don't have him. Keeps getting better and can see this as his last year as DPP.

The prognosis actually looks fairly good for Daisy: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...ntire-pre-season/story-fni5f5nx-1226745509629. I guess we just have to wait until the Blues come back for their preseason training to see though.

What do you think Daisy's price will look like? Averaged 79.2 from 5 matches. had 2 tons bur looks like he was either subbed or played horribly with a 59 (round 3), 24 (round 4) and a 58 (round 5).

prices for 79.2 averages are around $366,320. plus any discount for his subbed effected games and long-term injury (only 5 games 2013).

Actually, a 79.2 average should be around 420k. I would imagine that he would get 10-20% off due to his lack of games played, but even if he doesn't I still believe that he is excellent value (assuming a full preseason and fit for round 1 that is).

Well either way I'm happy paying 378,000 (for 10% off) and 336,000 (for 20% off) for a full pre-seasoned Daisy.

What will Jack Martin be categorised as? and if he is a MID/FWD where would you put him?
Probably midfield as I think DPP will be very important early on considering how rough the rd 8 bye looks like being.

If JM is a MID/FWD, I'll probably put him in my FWD line.
Yeah I doubt that they will give him DPP, considering even man and his dog will already pick him in their side whether they know anything about footy or not.

If Champion Data or VS, whoever decide on positioning, happening to give him DPP I would most likely start him FWD, and then as he is most likely going to be a decent cash cow that we would be looking to keep for a while longer than the average cash cow I would do a DPP trade and get him into the MID as a DPP link. A lot to get your head around if you are reading this but thats probably the way I would be approaching it if he or any other good looking rookie happened to be DPP. LOL

I am still sitting on the fence about buddy at swans. I see a lot of positives and negatives supercoach wise. Sydney's draw isn't awful but still not amazing. Can someone convince me to choose/leave

JW, Do you think Buddy will finish the year as a top 10 aggregate forward? If you do, pick him. If you don't, leave him. Personally I don't and am unlikely to select him in my starting squad. If he proves me wrong so be it, I can always trade him in later. Just as an aside, I've got a feeling Longmire has made a massive blunder with Buddy and I say massive, because of the massive amount of money he's getting. Either way, he'll have a role to play (which won't be as their leading goalkicker) and his SC scores will be okay, but I'm far from convinced he's a must have. Just my two cents.

I should add if Tippet, Goodes and/or Sam Reid can't get on the park, the equation could very well change.

I'll have a look at him during preseason games. if reid and goodes aren't on the park i will pick him up round 1. if not i will see how things evolve after a few rounds. if rockliff, nicnat, dusty get forward eligibility, i would pick them up before buddy. and get a few discounted/mid-pricers like daisy or gunston.

I do agree. Not convinced that Buddy is a must pick. But there will be games where he will tear the opposition apart and might see it in Round 1

What are the chances of the following happening with Buddy?

We don't select him in our starting squad and he starts the season with scores of:

178, 96, 112, 114, 125, 99, 156...

Then we trade him in....

Then he scores:

56, 78, 112, 34, 63..... Then sustains a slight but difficult to judge how long he will miss injury and is set to be out for 1 or two weeks but ends up being 4 weeks.

Better off not getting him if your not confident or the flip side get him, make a little cash/good scores and wait to upgrade when he's set to miss a few. Which will happen.
Him playing up the ground could help jkp. Both strong bodies not many teams have 2 types of players that can play on them at the same time.it would leave a gapeing whole. Youd think one would get the attention and the other will free up more often than not.

GC, are you suggesting Buddy could play out of the centre square? I hadn't even thought of that with their current midfield depth. I was anticipating he'd play as a high forward with Tippet or Reid at FF. He's certainly a big body, quick and hard to tackle. Playing alongside JPK would present problems for every other team. It's an interesting take on the Buddy thing and the problem for us is, we probably won't see it in pre-season, because the Swans haven't taken it seriously for over a decade.

I wouldnt say that high up but Buddys very versitile. No one knows how swans will play him and they'd be stupid to reveal it in the nab cup for all opposition to see it.
Given the opportunity to play up the field I can see him getting 20+ possies a game. Add a few goals when he goes fwd or kicking em from 60 at the scg he could really go bang next year.
Its all maybe's to be honest right now but for under $500k im taking the risk at this stage.

Who else would you have in your forward line if you had buddy around 450k?
