Backline is in dissarray so will have to take this opportunity to get Ridley.
McInereny > Rankine (via D Smith)
Fyfe > Ridley (via Rivers)

$379k for upgrades next week

Skipping on Day and Simpson, will pick them up next week if must haves - you can't grab everyone at cheap price with these bloody 2 week price rises!!

OUT: Ceglar and fyfe

IN: rankine and ??????

thinking ridley, will leave 512k in bank for bailey smith and premium mid next round

can someone please convince me ridley is the real deal because i know if i bring him in this week he gets 60
I'm actually really suprised he's played so well, thought it was another year or so off, but our game style seems to suit him, and teams are not playing negatively against him yet, probably worrying more about Hooker and Hurley.
I'm only getting him this week as was waiting for his scoring to just be a 'flash in the pan' but with scores of 111, 122, 134, 94, 100 and at $500k he's hard to ignore ... however watch him pump out a 60 now I've traded him in!

Gawn time? Erghh can't help but feel I maybe need more firepower in the middle this week. If I went this route, I'd look at Fyfe > Whitfield + Ceglar > B.Smith next week. View attachment 18875
I also tossed up whether to get Whitfield or Gawn. Have landed on Gawn, had enough of barracking against him.

Decided the simplest approach for me at least is to get rid of my players with the longest LTI's so :-

Sloane - > Bailey Smith (pending teams)

Heeney - > Rankine (pending teams)

Happy to go early on Smith as it allows a extra option for next week.

Problem now is I have B Smith , D Smith & Whitfield in my mids.

Outs this week :-

Williams
Brown , McInerney , Rivers
Cameron
Brander , Ceglar (?)

would be nice if some of them actually returned to make some $$$
Now thinking

Williams - > Rankine (via Brander)
Sloane - > McGrath

gives my midfield a better balance

Heeney - > Bailey Smith next week

Show me your team? Can totally see your rationale as a Dees man. He's just such a huge upgrade for us.
Gawn time for me too, feels like a big weight has been lifted from my shoulders

I have completed one trade: Taylor out Simpson In. My next trade will either be Starcevich/ Brander out and Day in.

I’m in a bit of a pickle. Brander out would make my total salary remaining $375,900. I was definitely trading Starcevich out, however think it’s wise to keep some cover rather than none. The plan next week is to Get Gawn and Bailey Smith from Pittonet and Dev Smith. If I did the trades today it would cost $360,700.

The plan is to wait for tonight’s match where both Bailey and Devon Smith play. If Bailey drops enough and Dev hopefully maintains somewhat his price I will pull the trigger on Brander. I will then cross my fingers Gawn doesn’t get 200 and Pittonet a 50!

330k in the kitty.

Ceglar to Bailey Smith.

Then it gets tricky.

Starcevich to Mills. Breakeven (19). More mid time with the JPK injury. Not chasing last weeks points, he's had some solid scores.
85, 96, 74, 112, 119, 173.

Starcevich to Ridley. Just keeps on racking up the scores and doesn't make mistakes. 100, 94, 134, 122, 111.
Had his bye round.

Starcevich to Luke Ryan. His run of home games appeals to me.

Thoughts welcomed.

Rest of the pic wouldn’t load but it’s

M: Bennell, Pickett
R: Grundy, Gawn (Williams)
F: Simpkin, Petracca, D Smith, Rankine, Taylor, Brander (Long, Budarick)

Bailey Smith coming in next week.

Team looks sick mate. Not a lot required for you to complete your team.

Who goes for Rankine to fund Pittonet > Gawn?

North Melb.
now that is one gutsy trade
Moved up to 1300 overall last week and have decided not to die wondering.

This week I get Nobles 62 in place of Mahony who moves to the bench (should be at least be a breakeven) and then Docherty V Whitfield with 120k in the bank.

Targeting Stewart as a Docherty replacement in a few weeks so fingers crossed I can get at least 1 more game from Noble.

Trying to read the play on fixturing ( almost impossible) but willing to take on Docherty who has a massive breakeven, a potential bye in the next month and also a candidate to miss a week when the games are condensed (my opinion only based on injury history)

Have good reasons to trade out any of Taylor, Budarick, Rivers, Mcinerny, Brander, or B. Williams for Rankine. They can all be moved on no problem!

Do I get rid of Taylor as he's appreciated the most, may be injured, and plays the scoring boa-constrictor's that are the Tigers this week? Or do I buy into all this 'warm body' + 'congested fixtures' talk, and get rid of Williams, as he is a floating donut who seems unlikely to play (despite @Lost In The Sky getting my hopes up everyweek aha)... decisions decisions.

Got rid of Ceg for Simpson last night btw, and have Shiel on the pine, so part of me thinks I should just skip Rankine and upgrade instead as I'm essentially down 2 premos this round (not that I care for OR this season...)

I like getting rid of the dead-weight first. I'm leaning towards trading Brander this week as I imagine he'll struggle to get back into that West Coast side. Will be hard to carry too many guys like this as the games start coming thick and fast.

Any eagles fans have thoughts on this?

Leaning towards now doing:

Brander > Short
Ceglar > Rankine

Short just looks really good buying to me at 448k this week. Think i'll just chase value for the next couple of weeks and assess the Gawn situation after grabbing Whitfield (~470k) and B.Smith (~420k) next week. Starcevich stays, again finding it difficult to justify getting rid of warm bodies right now.

Struggling to justify the Gawn move over these great value upgrades. Hope Pittonet can jag a good score to get that price going again, or at least staying at ~430k.
