Think I'll bring in Will Day for Starc. can't afford to lose any more cash on Starc and Day will be given a good run I reckon.

Only way I can get B.Smith is to trade D.Smith - and while that seems like a good trade in the short term, Devon has already had his "bye". I don't know... (Rumour is he got a bit of a rocket from the coach(es) for his lack of discipline after last weeks game.)

Perhaps another rookie this week, but they're pretty thin. Just unsure who:
DEF: Eggman looks good but a little pricey. If he holds Houli's spot for a while, could be worth it though.
MID: Sam Mayes looks good but iffy JS.
FWD: Weightman had a good debut, but probably a slow burner, and you never know what the coach is going to do.

Any (other) suggestions?
Why not Mcpherson from the Crows, cheaper then day and doesn't have that round 10 bye, should have good job security and has looked pretty good I thought

Thinking of Max King to Trac, as he's finally convinced me he's not fool's gold like previous years and King has mooed

Don't have enough left to upgrade meaningfully in defence, so may just go Williamson -> Day, issue is in only nets $60k, which normally is too low for a downgrade, but removes a round 10 bye defender and sets up some cash for an upgrade next week

Only other would be Ben McKay (on the bubble, 86 points last week, $149k) or McPherson from the Crows, $158k

McKay could be the better option given the Roos want to blood youngsters and have injuries...

What sre they gaining though?
By cramming in 4 rounds in 3 weeks, besides the other benefits mentioned above, the AFL are fulfilling their contracts with the TV stations, which means the AFL are gaining lots of money.

thanks guys, looks like everyone is of the same opinion. guess i'll skip on Smith and get in a rookie this week
I wasn’t one of the original posters, but I’d consider waiting on Macrae and securing Smith given his very low price, and Hunter being out. There was a view that Hunter missing was causing Macrae to play more wing and be less than an elite scorer, and Hunter is now out again with personal issues.

Under normal circumstances there’s very little that would make me doubt Macrae, but something to consider.

If Taylor scores like 70 this week, what will his BE be next week? Assuming when his 15 drops out he will still have money to make?

I'm trying to prioritise who to move out of King, Taylor, Bewley, Noble and Budarick

As a Macrae owner... That's definitely my concern, I can just see Bevo moving Macrae to the wing again and his scores suffering like earlier in the season.

Doesn't help with them bringing Callum Porter this week who's an inside mid.

No, I got him last week, but am half considering getting Smipson this week, which is similar I guess.
I would absolutely get Rankine in, even if he ge's injured for -4 he's still going up. Also, I am more than strongly considering Simpson... then, that leaves a one down two up next week with the 3 trades (starts next week, right?).

What about Mayes? If you are at the Simpson price point.

100% buy Rankine this week for those who don’t have.

I’m weighing up which of Simpson/Mayes I’ll bring in this week, I’ve backflipped a little and am now preferring Simpson +30k in the back pocket @Ben's Beasts

Probably have to avoid using any trades on the Wednesday games. Although with 3 per bye round now it won't hurt using one. Probably use the third trade each week to cull a rookie early to free up some cash for the early game upgrades. Slingshot the very high BE premo for a fallen injury score premo that has bottomed out as it probably won't hurt now to use 2 of those extra 4 trades.
A Slingshot trade involves trading out a Prem, before he has his bye, and replacing him with a player that has had his bye.
In Rnd's 8, 9 & 10 it can only be performed by trading in a Melb or Ess player.
In Rnd 11 you can add Haw, Carl, Fre & WC to that list.
In Rnd 12 you can add GWS & Syd

Struggling to split them, leaning towards Simpson +30k and the ever so slightly better JS (at least that’s how I’m seeing it just now).

Are you considering one of them this week?

I have Simpson. I was considering Mayes but now TBH I am leaning towards MacPherson so I can hide Rivers in my mids rather than having no bench cover in defence. Plus $60K cheaper and hopefully less of that JS question than Mayes.
