I will prob start with him, and GWS will still be crap so hoping theres no need for the opposition to care what he does.
I think you would get him cheaper then his starting price after the first 5 rounds, he does get annoyed when he gets tagged an cant get those uncontested possessions so personally I don't think he will cope well given he is GWS's star back line player. Also prone to giving away silly free kicks and 50's

Tentative yes for me. Maybe if there was a good D/F link and his role doesn't look like changing.
For me I think him in the back and bartel in the forward could be a good combination, Geelong have the bye round 8 and carton round 9

The acquisition of Hampson & Daisy almost definitely means Walker will be staying in the back lines. Hampson plunked at full forward and Daisy playing the "hit up" high half forward role.

Only way I see it changing is if Malthouse sees he can't develop Gibbs as a pure mid and slots him back into that position. Meaning Walker and Daisy rotate Wing/HF

I personally think Walker was the most damaging rebound defender in the league last year and I dare say Mick sees it too. Can't defend to save his life though. Which I think teams will have noticed and will try make him more accountable.

I'd like to see him pushed to a wing permenantly myself. At 190cm 90kg a deadly kick and amazing tank & leap, there are not many blokes that could go with this guy for 4 quarters.

Highly likely to be in my side come round 1.
Yes he does offer more upside then some other options of staying around his average, I think he would be great value if he rotated with Gibbs through the middle especially with his kicking ability and running like you mentioned

Any thoughts on Bob Murphy? Getting on a fair bit (Will be around 32 next season), but the dogs have an amazing draw so worth a look IMO.

Not pre-empting 2014's version of FTB too much, but Murphy only scores 3.5% higher against the weak* 3 teams (Melb, GWS and GC) and only 5.6% higher against the next 4 weakest* teams (StK, Nth, WBG, Port)

*weak and weakest refer to the teams that give up the highest SC scores, not necessarily their ability to win a game. Obviously Murphy has not played against WBG.

As Walker and Bartel both scored exactly the same amount of points over 21 games for an average of 106.1, they'll be the same price in SC next year.

Looks like new territory here. In previous years, DEF is weak compared to MID and FWD scores but now it's all even level playing field.

But we don't have a $20 million dollar budget. This is going to be a very interesting year with the addition of huge fire power in the defensive area. Have to pick the right players from the get go.

Yeah it's great and will make starting structure that more important.

Without knowing the rookies and mid pricer's prices, i'm leaning to a 4-1-3 structure and will going in with one less premium mid.

Bartel, Mitchell, Walker, Heater*, Suckling, rookie, rookie, rookie

* = not 100% Shaw on that one.
