Assuming there are 18 rounds, with 4 of those being finals, that means there are just four more weeks of the regular season to go. I will ony be full premo for the last two, all going well that is!

Even better, first two weeks of finals are likely to be BYES!!

Article on FoxSports has Gil only talking about Round 17 being "normal" and Round 14-16 being compressed.

Yeah with the cases going around everywhere, they want to get this done as quickly as possible.
If stuff goes sideways near finals, I'd expect finals teams to all relocate to WA

So does that mean Essendon and Melbourne actually play 5 games in Rd 14-16 ?

Gil said the catch up game would be in this block.

Probably too hard to organise with the TV deal but not sure why they couldn't play 3 games back to back on weekdays as well.

Could then theoretically get a round played Mon , Tues Wed then say Fri , Sat , Sun then Tues , Wed , Thurs.

They dont need to play a catchup game, as everyones else is now having a bye. This should result in an 18th round instead.

As per my post Gil made no mention at all of a Round 18 (maybe he forgot).

He also confirmed the catch up game would be played in the Round 14-16 block.

There is no extra catch up game, Melb Ess still have to play each other thats true. But having had their bye they are in the same position as the 4 teams who had their bye this week. The only impact on both clubs is that the compressed fixture affects them more than anyone else, as they dont get a game off.

Except that Rounds 14-16 is only 3 games for a total of 16, hence the need for a round 18 to enable all teams to play each other once, or are you suggesting that Gil will squeeze that round 18 game into this space? That means double game rounds over that time!

This makes sense, they cant run 4 games over the round 14-16 period with some teams having a bye.

Yeah I’m a bit torn on this one. I’ve been in and around footy clubs for most of my life and this stuff is kid gloves compared to a lot of stuff that goes on.

Can’t be doing that stuff on TV though so it’s either remove change room cameras or stop grabbing your mates on the barnacles mid song. I actually lean toward removing the cameras as weird as it sounds.
