Is Titch a must have?
I’ve had him since the start and he’s going alright, isn’t he. Only Sidebum, Adams, Miller, or Duncan in the same price and scoring ballpark really, and Titch has had his bye already. Of those, if I got Duncan I’d be a bit too exposed to Geelong players. I really like the look of Miller, would love to have him at M6

And thanks for your welcome and kind words in the other thread too :)
Thanks heaps for the response! You are spot on looking at that price bracket, you have listed the standouts. I would throw Merrett and Parker into the mix too, they are cheaper again and thereabouts the mark. Or for 20k more, we can get the best player in the game, fresh off his bye. We know he is an injury risk, but Fyfe is just so good.

No worries at all, I love reading about how this awesome place has helped people on their fantasy football journeys. I look forward to following your progress for the rest of this season and for seasons to come.

something like 3 of devon smith, hill, bennell, buderick, Mcpherson to Cripps and 2 rookies

then the other 2 plus Aarts to a final premo plus 2 rookies in round 12 (leaving 8 trades)

after that it will probably just be 1 rookie downgrade a week while sidewaysing one or more premiums across the byes with my other weekly trades until they run out
Now looking like Bennell, Budarick and one of Hill/Macpherson to P Cripps, a cheap M10/11 and either Sholl (for Macpherson) or Watson (for Hill).

It will leave Close, Schoenfeld or Aarts as the only non premium on field for the next best 22 round (12), and 11 trades for the final 7 rounds.

I will aim to use 6-8 of these to sideways/slingshot premiums over their bye.

Plan B if Gawn isn't named is to trade him out and trade in Cripps and Mitchell, laving Draper as the only non premium onfield in Rd12 until I can upgrade him to Goldy, Gawn or someone else a bit further down the track.

I reckon I will be going
Simpson > Cripps
Rankine > Simpkin
Noble > Watson

Team will look like this: View attachment 19594
Only have the 2 mid upgrades to go. However, with the quality of the rookies I have remaining, and the lack of cash in the bank, think I will be using at least 5 of those remaining trades to be able to get anyone in.
My advice would be to trade in a $102.4k mid instead of Watson, but instead of banking the $53k keep Simpson or Rankine and trade out Bennell.

Then I would trade in the best premo you can next week with 3 trades, settle for a 21 premium side and slingshot 4 premiums over (or ahead of) their Rd14-15 byes keeping 2 trades for insurance over the final 1-2 rounds.

My rookies are:

DEFS: McPherson, Watson, & Williams
MIDS: M Pickett, Serong both on field, with Starc, Close, and Warner on bench
FWD: Rankine and Aarts both on field, Weightman and Comben on bench.

So I’m going Starc to Schoenberg, and Weightman to Darling.

(There was a post the other day about Darling’s good run-in last season, can’t remember who posted it but it jogged my memory)

Results in (hopefully) a playing rookie and a loop on each line, but also leaves only 20k itb.

Will have four more upgrades to go, with 15 trades.
With 15 trades left after 2 trades, I would recommend using another one this week so you don't have spare trades after 18 rounds.

Slingshotting a Sydney, GWS or Rd14/15 (tbd) player may be sensible or you could look to trade Mcpherson to Sholl to bank some $$$

yep thanks for that, @Herbie66 made the same point about the trades, it’s frantic at the moment!

How would people rank the various “rookies within reach”?

I don’t have Draper, so will nab him. Was going to get Simpkin, but leaning towards Schoenberg. I see Watson mentioned a bit too, so could ship Starc to him.

Having a good season and really think that I should go all out chasing every point I can get. At this stage looking at :

Kelly to Mitchell
Cogs to Cripps
McHenry to Rozee

Allows me to get Rozee as F6 for now. Would not be surprised for him to go on a but of a run for a few weeks. Plan to have him as F7 in a perfect world.

Would you still be able to select Mitchell without parting with J Kelly?

I'm tossing up between Pickett and Simpson to trade out , I don't really want to trade them this early but I need the cash.
At least we know Pickett is playing, Simpson may get dropped.

I just spent my life savings, traded the dog and mother in law along with everything else I have for Lachie Neale - man it feels good.

Here I come.
L Neale:
Avg VS WB since 2015: 104.86 from 7 (low of 84 and a high of 119, 1/7 below 100)
Last 3 VS WB: 105 from 3 (low of 100 and a high of 114)
2019 Wins Avg: 121.75 from 16 (3/16 below 100, 8/16 120+)
2019 Losses Avg: 120 from 6 (2/6 below 100, 2/6 120+)
2020 Wins Avg: 144.29 from 7 (1/7 below 100, 6/7 120+)
2020 Losses Avg: 146.67 from 3 (3/3 120+)

L Neale has never scored a 120+ against the WB.

Feel I have to take Cripps at his value.

Bennell > Schoenberg/Scholl
Picket > Cripps

However, it leaves me with a lack of depth, and some poor spots on field.

D6-8: Williamson, Ling, Scholl/Rivers
M9-11: McHenry, Close, Schoenberg/Rivers
R3: Drapee
F5-8: Rankine, Georgiadas, Budarick, Comben

16k, 9 trades.

Thinking best case scenario, 2 down 1 up to complete my defence (Hopefully Zac Williams) and then one more 1 down 1 up to upgrade Georgiadas leaving 4 trades and Rankine at F6.
