Thinking of going this way for 2 trades. Any thoughts?

I like the Simpkin bit, but am unsure whether the Gawn trade is worthwhile.

I'm an owner and working on the basis that he likely misses one and returns (not guaranteed, but my expectation). If that's the case, best 18 provides significant protection/reduces the value of the Goldy trade, and I would likely carry him even if I didn't have Draper. If you have someone like Draper it reduces the need to trade further.

If you think Gawn is cooked or are really bullish on Goldy, obviously that changes things a fair bit.

late rush to reverse trades based on the Gawn news.
Gawn, Bennell & Sturt to Balta, Cripps & JJK.
Then realised that big Max had the C on him so went back to change it off of Balta but the game had already started.

GO big my POD Captain Balta

DOH!
Been off site in disgust with myself since the above post.
Just lucky my vc Neale didn't cost me too much against Balta
☹😰😥😢😭😱

What are your other options/possibilities ?

I don't own Gawn , but think Gawn to Goldy is worth it.

If I am going to get rid of Gawn it has to be this week to as he is going to drop so much and also make it worth while to trade him out. Could either go for a keeper or someone who will make cash and pick him up 100K cheaper in a few weeks time.
Was thinking about the Bont instead ofSimpkin but a bit too late now.

He won’t drop any cash until he plays, so there’s no urgency on that front. Obviously it means that you’ll have his cash sitting on the bench if you wait a round, although most of us have guys like Whitfield and some have Lloyd, who are similar in that regard. If you wait a round you also have more info to see whether Gawn is fit/back but maybe not fit/still out.

There are arguments both ways, but he’s the second best scorer in the comp so normally he’d be a hold if we knew it was a one-seeker, and best 18 helps further.

Good luck whichever way you jump on it.

Currently languishing in 2nd last in my main comp and need points so can't afford for gawn to sit on the bench and have an unfinished team.
Bit the bullet...
Gawn to mcinerney
Bennell to Simpkin
Skinner to Wingard
Always liked Chad... And hoping Hawks play a better brand than the shocking 4 weeks before the Carlton game.
Forward line is essentially complete with:
Petracca Whitfield Wingard Simpkin B.Smith D. Smith and 7th Mcinerney
Big O's DPP let's me switch him with xerri in ruck but essentially he will be F7 to loop with Devon Smith.
Just need a ruckman, one mid and one backman to go.

Decided to pull the pin on these trades

OUT: Viney + close + sturt

IN: Cripps + shoenberg + simpkin

not sure whether keeping gawn and trading viney was the right decision but nevermind

after barracking against cripps all year its time for him to go crazy

Don’t like or rate any of the upcoming rookies available. Feel they’ll be in/out with poor JS covering senior players getting rested. Last thing you want is piling up on dead cows for the current cash grab.

So with that I’m looking to firm my squad by culling some dead weight with young guys with great JS and potentially good scoring power and $$$ to make.

OUT: Simpson Bennell Buda
IN: Serong Sier Draper

Holding Gawn and will look closely at Simpkin next week or Fyfe.

Now looking like Bennell, Budarick and one of Hill/Macpherson to P Cripps, a cheap M10/11 and either Sholl (for Macpherson) or Watson (for Hill).

It will leave Close, Schoenfeld or Aarts as the only non premium on field for the next best 22 round (12), and 11 trades for the final 7 rounds.

I will aim to use 6-8 of these to sideways/slingshot premiums over their bye.

Plan B if Gawn isn't named is to trade him out and trade in Cripps and Mitchell, laving Draper as the only non premium onfield in Rd12 until I can upgrade him to Goldy, Gawn or someone else a bit further down the track.
I have decided to hold Gawn and Viney, despite the temptation to turn Gawn into 2 premium mids (Cripps and Mitchell).

Bennell, Budarick and Macpherson become Ruscoe, Sholl and Cripps, while Hill remains and swings forward for a week.

11 trades and $28k left.

If Gawn and Viney are back for Round 12 and no other pressing issues present then one option is to downgrade 2 of Hill, Aarts, Rivers and Close to upgrade Devon Smith into a 110-115 average premium M8, however next week will be geared mainly towards plotting a rough course through the remainder of the byes (expecting the Round 14 fixture is out by Thursday/Friday and an educated guess can be used for the round 15-18 period).
