Anyone got any thoughts on Dawson or Fox ?

To possibly link with O'Connor.

Been thinking I might need a pair of D/F moving forward as something different.

Gone early on trades but won’t have to sit and watch all week now. Just see what happens now.

Out GAWN, Bennell, brander

In Fyfe, titchell, ruscoe (wish that was woodcock the way he’s going this game.)

Mids now complete with
Neale, Oliver, Fyfe, Mitchell, cogs, bont, gaff, cripps

Just need to replace Gawn and get another fwd in
then be full keeper

Good point - I do want to get Adams in this round somehow but Gawn and Viney being out has thrown any plans I might have had into disarray.

I'm also concerned with Titch's upcoming schedule with midfielders on losing teams tending to be starved of those juicy in-game and end-game scaling points but I might just be second-guessing on him there?
There was a post earlier today (I think from McLovin) showing an average of 131 in wins and 101 in losses from memory. He’s averaging 114 overall and if the Hawks split their games evenly from here you’d expect the same.

Personally I was quite concerned about a range of things in Titch’s game that we’re differenr about a month ago - no scoring shots, fewer tackles, more R50s, fewer I50s, worse kick to handball ratio, touches well down and so on. He’s improved on some of those but not all. I don’t think he’s at anywhere near 100% of capacity and he’s still averaging 114 - which I see as a good thing. His worst year since breaking out is 104 and he wasn’t even playing full time mid then. I don’t see much downside with him, with scope for him to go on a run of much better scoring if things click for him.

Anyone keeping Gawn?

I feel like best of 18 allows you to keep him for this week, and reassess next week.
Yes, I’m keeping him. I have Draper and it’s best 18 anyway.

Last week I improved my ranking a decent amount with only 3 defs playing. Not having a premo R2 is not as big an issue in a bye round.

Should i pull the trigger?
Gawn > Big O
Bennell > Shuey
Mahoney > Fyfe
I like Big O but have you considered Gawn to a M8 via Cameron and Whitfield ? Draper should be OK at R2 for 2-3 weeks then trade him out for Gawn once he drops in price or go for a ruck like Big O, Nic Nat or Goldy further down the track.

Yep I have 21 players and it sounds like a one week thing, not sure why they'd play funny buggars with his injury and not be truthful.

Gonna keep him and go:

Rankine, Simpson, T Brown

to

Schoenberg, Wicks and Titchell

At this stage im considering:
Gawn > T. Mitchell (DPP magic)
King > Simpkin
Anderson > Shuey

66K left over. BBL style approach but Gawn is a must trade IMO with the 240BE and unlimited trades (essentially).
True, but the benefit of him being out is that the equation doesn't change for this week, so you can afford to wait until next round if it suits your plans better.

Nevermind - just cracked the ****s with how much time I was spending on this and made my three trades for the round now.

I'm spending way to much time trying to think through trades when it's clear that at every turn I have no luck and constantly have premos missing games to deal with.

Quick question - can I rotate Hill, Rivers and Close around via trades without actually burning a trade?

ie. Hill out, Rivers to DEF, Close to MID, some 102k bye week player at FWD in first trade. Then bring back Hill at FWD for the 102k player I traded in earlier as part of second trade (the one I actually want to do)?
Not sure, try it but don't hit confirm.

Panicked with the Gawn news and traded him for Balta. Uh oh. Wingard and Cripps brought in with the cash. Best 18 should soften the damage.

With Rivers unexpected return and uncertainty over Watson (and Sholl) decided to go early on Wicks.

Noble - > Wicks (via Rivers)
KKP - > Big O

can look at Eagles & Cottrell and if any other cheap rookie defender appears now for Bennell next round

Gawn > Schoenberg
Bennell > Titch
Simpson > Tim Kelly

Kelly, kinda rogue POD but I really like him with the bye out of the way. Had a few big games already this season, and will have plenty of games at home.

Draper and Serong my only rookies left on field now.
