OK Help me out guys if you please:

A. Keep Gawn and reassess next week (Draper as cover; Fwd line complete with Whitfield back next week; Defence cover -hopefully) Close, could make more cash with a spike, but who knows? Starc, Pickett, Simpson, George to trade down/up mids next week, will bring in Wicks as downgrade*. Possibly Big O, if Gawn doesn't return or looks iffy.

View attachment 19707

B. Trade Gawn: Option 1 (Fwd line complete; Defence cover - hopefully; Cash for mid upgrades) Ruscoe could be Schoenberg. As mentioned above*

View attachment 19708

B. Trade Gawn Option 2 (Fwd line complete; Sier scoring potential and cash gen against Adel, Melb, Nth; address Defence rookies next week when landscape is clearer.)

View attachment 19709

All 3 Options will have 22 for best 18 this week*

Then there's OPTION X... ROOM 101... The Blue pill etc.

Leaning toward A (but have yet to get the calculator out and look at projected prices. Also, we're back to two trades next week, yeah?).

I can post team if necessary.

Thanks for any feedback.
If Gawn is out for only 1 week then I like Option A. That's what I have done.

I'd look at option A, though the irony is I traded Simpkin out this round.
My main thought is that once you trade Gawn out, it's very unlikely you will get him back.
He gets you a big chunk of cash, which naturally you will spend on upgrading other players.
It will then take 2-3 weeks after he comes back for his price to bottom out, somewhere around the $600k - $630k mark which is a big pile of cash to find at this end of the season.
So long as the Dees don't play games with the injury report, waiting a week lets you see if it's a short or long term injury.
Personally, if it's 1-2 weeks rounds I'll hold, more than that I'll cut him loose.

For me it probably depends on the goal, overall or league? If league keep gawn (A). If overall i would ditch him, but go B1 and use the cash next week for another upgrade.

Just my 2c, good luck with the choice.

Edit also strongly agree with Jel once he's out he probably doesn't come back unless it's the last 2 rounds. Take away the name gawn, he played under am injury cloud and got 107, will miss with injury at least 1 and comes back against a ruck who he averages sub 100. BE 240 its lot of cash to lose IF you can put it to good elsewhere...

Triple edit average against pies 95, then dogs 86 and under injury cloud on the very bit of the body that gets him the big scores

@Herbie66 and others, I ignored, my first thought and went Big M to Big O 😇, saw so many getting on the train and got FOMO, lol, what the hell we can go down in flames together 😉.

Viney out changes things somewhat, Bennell to Cripps still likely, might go the hole hog and do Viney to Fyfe 😉.

I know the risks with Fyfe, but I have never really been burnt by him before and he is the type of player who can match the big guns. Have Titch, Macrae too expensive, have Oliver and Neale, Kelly is probably the one I'm missing, but he has the bye.

Having worked my way up to 481 overall, maybe Fyfe will be worth the risk, if it goes wrong, it goes wrong, nothing ventured nothing gained.

Too much risk?
Gotta Risk it to get the biscuit

Gawn - > Goldy - > Gawn might not require that much cash to do though.

EDIT According to Footywire Goldy is projected to be $ 551,500.00 after 3 more games and Gawn $ 680,800.00 so it is actually considerably more than I originally thought.

Is Ridley playing this round?
Could his injury keep him out for a couple of games?
I have one trade left and I could use it to replace Ridley with Jy Simpkin (via moving DPPs).
I have to make a decision before Nth's game today, hmmm.
Unfortunately there's been no new info on ridders, so it's a guessing game.

Woosha says it was just a knock - but obviously potential for rib-bruising given how much it seemed to debilitate him...

You reckon Simpkin has run his race?
As an owner, I wasn't convinced he would turn it around, but just to spite me he put in a 103 last round. :devilish:
He looked to struggle with an injury and a tag. The injury looks to be behind him, but I'm still wary if teams decide to slap a tag on him.
For my team it was worth it as it let me grab 2 other keepers.
With his current price I can see the appeal, especially if some of Nth's mids come in and get more attention from the opposition.
I'd want to see how he goes today.

Firstly, apologies for the two screenshots, I'm using my phone at the moment.

I just wanted to put my team out there and get some feedback/suggestions/thoughts on some potential trading scenarios. I should mention that my sole focus is on overall rank and maximum points gain for the remainder of the season.

There is so much going on, it's hard to think beyond this round. Theoretically, this is the order of priority.

1. I need a premium player at M8.
2. I need a premium player at R2 (waiting for Gawn which means I may tick off below priorities first).
3. Devon Smith out (Hugh Greenwood next round seems a no-brainer).
4. Other sideways trades (max 2) - candidates are Viney, Yeo, Houston, Doedee. Leaning towards keeping Doedee.

Option 1:

Sideways trading Viney this round (which probably means keeping Yeo) and going after an M8 next week (Fyfe?). I am 5.3k short of Titch. I could go Adams. Or I could go Bennell to Schoenberg and Viney to Titch. Could also use a 3rd trade when rookies are named to free up more cash for next round.

Option 2:

Aggressive. Dev, Viney and Bennell out for Schoenberg, and 2 of Adams/Shuey/Gaff/Matt Crouch. Feels bad holding Dev all this time and trading him after his first good score in 8 weeks. I am open to it though.

Option X:

???

I will massively appreciate anything you can offer.

out of the options you have listed i really like

bennel -> schoenberg
viney -> titch

however considering you only have 2 people on their bye this week, you have the luxury of holding viney and it not damaging you too much

if you are trying to maximise points this week id be doing that option mentioned, but if you arent and think viney can go 110 from here holding him may be more beneficial

if it helps you, ive traded viney out this week :)

An option could be
Out: M Hibberd, H Bennell and J Lloyd
In: S Wicks/H Schoenberg, T Mitchell and S Hurn

8 trades left.
All rookies off the ground next week.
Appreciating rookies should help allow a premium ruck in a few rounds.
Involves keeping the likes of Smith, Houston, Viney, etc for the time being.

Or select Laird over Hurn and trade Rankine over Hibberd/Bennell.

I agree that Ridley looked pretty bad on TV, similar to Silvagni when Merrett tapped him and Silvagni got a cracked rib, hmmm.
Woosha's comment didn't seem to be based on facts.

Trading Ridley (BE 118) to Simpkin (BE 81) gives me an extra $112k in my cap, both can score similarly, Simpkin is over his injury, Ridley has an injury, hmmm, tempting to do the trade.

Simpkin, @jel makes some good points, (........With his current price I can see the appeal, especially if some of Nth's mids come in and get more attention from the opposition. I'd want to see how he goes today......).
I haven't got the luxury to see how he goes today, but his price is tempting though to take a risk. Also, I like a Fwd that plays Mid.

I think it was your post that got me thinking about Ruscoe, @GrainFedBeef Sounded good to me, so I'm interested in this too.
ha ha should go a re-read may post!

hard as I am already taking Schoenberg.

I like Sholl role on the wing and may also have a different bye to Maynard which may help.

Problem is Collingwood has been chopping and changing team so much (as have Adelaide to an extent). Feels like Roscoe could do ok, not sure who he is competing with is the challenge.
