T Mitchell having an interupted pre-season. He already had a question mark over his ability to go up a step, but that makes it even harder now. You would want to see something positive in the preseason to take him! :)

None ideally, but if I had to choose then Parker, Chapman, Mitchell.
Give me the proven performer, over the speculative break out player(s), everytime. Chappy. :)
if we had 44 trades - chappy! but as we don't it is a no for me. of the other 2....

safe - parker for natural progression, will be a solid scorer and best 22 - those stats you posted look pretty good
x factor - mitchell has the game to break out like danger or beams but will it be this year? or will he flatten out for a year, head back to the 2's and/or get injured. risk/reward option

for me it depends on the type of player you are looking for to compliment your fwd line when choosing between them

Cheers guys, just playing around with structures but now I read Murph is killing it and Mitchell/Dixon is on a managed program so will have to scrap the stacked forward line idea and go to a more traditional structure.

Absolutely. Injuries aside, if he gets through preseason unscathed and makes it to Round 1, he will be a lock in my team.

Has anyone at least had a second thought about Higgins at $254k?

I at one stage had him in a draft team but took him out.

If he was to get in a good pre season and was cherry ripe for round one then he may come back in again but it is a big 'IF'.

It may well come down to Higgins v Karnezis. Now that could be a worth while x v y, LOL...

I think we all have over the last couple of years but gosh you gotta be brave to start him at anything other than rookie price (+ a preseason). He is just the bloke who will promise and promise but burn you over and over again.

Gee he will be a really interesting option next year. Showed quite a bit last year, especially in the finals and now with Buddy gone he should get more opportunities, along with the number 1 defender...makes him a really interesting prospect.

2011 - 12 games @ 56
2012 - 16 games @ 71
2013 - 20 games @ 83

Subbed twice this year so has a built in discount in his starting price and also had 2 x 30s which would've brought his average down a bit. Can't see him going that low again so it's just a matter of his ceiling increasing (1 x 128, 1 x 110, 6 x 100s), noting he scored 146 and 124 in the PF and GF!

Will be fooled into starting higgins if he is a round 1 starter. Bar last season he has played often enough ranging from 20,19,18,17,16 games in no particular order. Much of the frustration with him comes from what you spend on him. At $254k I see him at least as a stepping stone

Came here to ask about karnezis, is he going to be in the best 22?
God I hope not..same goes with Harper lol (yes still bitter) but I think Karnezis would be close. This is what the pies said about him a couple of months ago.

“We see Patrick as a very versatile talent,” Collingwood national recruiting manager, Derek Hine, said.

“At 190cm tall he has played third forward, wing and quite a bit of mid-field which is where we see a lot of scope for Patrick in the years ahead.

“He is unquestionably a talented footballer and I think that with the understanding he now has of what is required, after three years in the system, and the opportunity to start over we could see some pretty rapid progress in his game.”

If he gets through preseason with no, I mean not a single, nada, zip issues, then I think he is worth a punt.
At 254K, he can at least make 150K if he can string many games together.

It will depend on how many such players you already have in your side eg. Daisy, Sandi, Dixon, Suckling because mass injuries could just about put the light out of your team for the year.

Do you think he will get much of a run?

With Buddy, Tippett,, Goodes etc.

He played 12 games last year with 4 scores under 20 all be itvsub affected. He had only one score above 80.

Not sure but I believe he was a reasonably high draft pick a couple of years ago.
