Re: England batting, you’re right that Root is the key. It’s been a big few years of change but if you have Root in form you can build around him. Crawley and Butler’s performance in the last test was promising for me.

I don’t get to watch and county cricket any more so couldn’t talk much to alternatives.
I don't follow it as closely as I should , given the issues they had finding a partner for Cook when Strauss left and now Cook retiring , I can see why they would want to stick with Burns up the top as long as possible.

Sibley , Crawley & Pope all have the potential so hopefully they keep showing patience with them and they deliver.

Just think they need 5 specialist bats + Stokes and Buttler , but I doubt the selectors and Silverwood visit these pages to read my posts 😀

I have been critical of Buttler in the past but can't argue with his recent form.

The only other names I have is Bairstow or they try Gregory or Lawrence.

Just think though if Moeen Ali is back for SL and India though he will end up in the Top 6 again.

Mind you if Bumrah & co cause problems for Burns , Wade & Head we will be back to our same problems again as well.

Could be even more interesting how they factor their fast bowlers.

Shikhar Dhawan probably wouldn’t mind an interstate trip at this point!
They were talking on the News tonight that the Australian and Indian players will hub in Adelaide after the IPL , as the WA Government knocked back their request to hub their.

Not sure where the ones in England that are not playing IPL have to do their 14 day quarantine on return.

Be easier to relocate to the UAE and just play the BBL over there after the IPL.

Possibly that both teams stay in Adelaide and then fly to different venues.

Not sure how that affects the Afghanistan test.

Dan Christian likely to join the Sydney Sixers.

Cricket.com.au

If he had gone to the Scorchers he would have had the complete set of states.

We almost had Shikkar play a game for our club in Melbourne Premier Cricket a couple of seasons ago until the BCCI got word and stepped in and blocked him from playing. He did come down to training for a night or two, was really nice and boy could he play.

@Goodie's Guns

Is he still living in Melbourne and involved in your club ?
EDIT: Sorry misread the above, I've just re-told the story above. I thought you were referring to DC @Herbie66 so was about to then reply to your post. But yeah, as far as I'm aware he still has a house in Melbourne. But I could be wrong.

Sorry I probably wasn't real clear.

I remember last season or the season before you were talking about Dhawan.

Surely if Cricket Australia is extra nice to BCCI they will let some Indian players come and play Big Bash.
