The AFL is looking at a 28 game season with 18 minutes quarters next season according to 7 news.

Can't see it.

Well, they've tried everything else to kill our great game. When ridiculous rule changes didn't work, why not try this?
I can't see the PA going for it, unless there is a drastic increase in Salary Cap, to facilitate higher pay.

Yeah that would be almost as stupid a decision as a night Grand Final in Queensland conditions... so its quite possible they might actually do it!

Similar to what Sheedy proposed with a 28, 28 , 29 rounds over 3 seasons.

Every team ends up playing each other 5 times in 3 years.

Oh wait that won't work either as the whingers won't agree to 3 home/2 away or 2 home/3 away.

Really need that magical "neutral" stadium built in the middle of Australia.

Maybe the other game can be played overseas.

Do away with the meaningless pre season games and it is actually not a bad idea.

Just factor in a split round after Round 9 & 18.

Or maybe it is before they start the 3 conference system 😀

In conjunction with the very real possibility of reduced squads, medical & physio staff...Haha...tell em their dreaming!

Stick with a 17 round season @ 18min 1/4 OR 22 rounds @ 16min 1/4 with two bye rounds (after 1/3 & 2/3 through) for ALL teams at the same time.

Should translate to having more of the stars on the park = better viewing

Can someone please run me through the basics of BBL SC when it opens? I've never been the biggest cricket fan but Big Bash is entertaining and I am fearing life without SC in only a week from now
Biggest tip would be to take all the knowledge and learning you garnered from playing AFL SuperCoach......and throw it out the window.

Main tips
  • Maximise your DGR players in every round (and don’t let anybody convince you otherwise). However no more than 4 (maybe 5) from one team.
  • Don’t hesitate to trade out the Single Game Round (SGR) guns to the Double Game Round (DGR) guns.
  • Always look at least a round or 2 ahead.
  • Allrounders are gold.
  • Pay very close attention the break evens published by @Tails when trading.
  • However the biggest tip I can give you is never get totally invested in a single game by a single player. Good players can and will score poorly even when you have them captain. Accept that it will happen and move on. If you can’t do this you won’t enjoy it.
For further insights read through the BBL thread from last year. Everything you need to know will be in there. Pay particular attention to @THCLT ’s views.

100% on this, especially maximising DGR players. That was my biggest mistake from my first attempt last season.

Wow, this is incredible info right off the bat! Thanks so much for the tips legend. I'll pay close attention and follow those rules like scripture.
