Shouldn't be keeping up to the stumps, 5 wides are too costly. Although you would think big Smith could get something behind the ball, if not the gloves!
LOL, I can't think of anyone in the Sixers squad to replace him though. I'm a keeper so I might give them a call and see if they want me behind the stumps for the next game. LOL :)

Putting the C on Warner and hoping he goes sick. Also got Cosgrove as emergency bat. If he goes big I'll pick a non-playing batsman tomorrow that suits the situation best.

Had to change my bowling line-up dramatically.
Had Copeland, Putland, Cummings and McDemott a day ago , now none of them are in my squad.
Warner is looking alright so far Oz!!

Someone plz tell Andy Maher to shut up!!! So painful, don't talk unrelated stuff while the ball is being bowled!! And don't talk to Warner as the bowler is coming in to bowl!!
Yep, talking to batsman as bowler about to deliver it , is a no no.

Warner I guess paid off but I did trade Lynn out to get him and was keen on keeping Lynn.
Warner I guess I trade out next week because I doubt he plays many more games in Big Bash.
He cost over $100 K so I guess just hired him to be captain for a day.
Only have Maxwell and him that have played from my actual 11.
At this stage I have Marsh brothers, Hughes, Ferguson, Paine, Laughlin and Coulter-Nile I hope go well tomorrow and 2 cheap bowlers I barely know (Mennie and Gannon ) in my team. $10.5 K cash left in kitty.

I did pretty well! Happy with Bird, White, Maxwell and Finchy

I have VC on finch, think I'll roll the dice with Warner! (Don't get a -40 like last year, PLEASE! :p)
You'd be happy to have backed up Bird have a big night with Warner as captain.

Goodies done well to have a relatively cheap Maddinson.

Yea very happy :D
Not sure what to do about Maddinson, I could trade him in for Warner and pocket all the cash for upgrades down the track. Or wait until after his bye. He looks the goods opening though!

I had Maddinson on the bench. Tricky situation now as Pomersbach is my only batsmen having not played. Think i'll trade him for a non playing player and pocket the 81. Now need to find a captain... have it on Mitch Marsh atm.

Yeah glad I had Maddison, especially since he is opening the batting for the Sixers. Didn't end up going with Silk once I saw he was listed to come in at 7, which was a great move coz he didn't get a hit. Have Katich currently as my reserve bat so I am hoping he can get a game firstly, and some runs would be nice.

Henriques 108 and as my reserve All-Rounder, thinking I might trade out Mitch Marsh to a non-playing All-Rounder. This will pocket me $30-40K which I can then go Bollinger to Bird next week if Doug doesn't fire too many shots, and non-playing All-Rounder to Wright. Coz with my current set-up I don't have any coin available, used every cent of it.

Hmm I'm still undecided, take Finch's 52x2 =104 or put the C on Shaun Marsh??
Tough decision. A real roll of the dice type decision, could pay off or could backfire. In my opinion, I think there is too much of a risk that if Marsh fails (i.e less than 25 runs) that's a pretty significant loss of points. But Marsh might do well and get 60 odd or 70, which isn't too much of a significant loss if you have Finch captain, + you at least you have Marsh in your team.

So I think, especially in round 1, bank the 52 and if Marsh dominates and makes a huge score then just be happy that you have him. If Marsh makes a score under 25, which could very well happen, you will be ruing the choice.

Overall, tough choice, but Finch's doubled for me. :)

Currently 4 / 332. Botha, Paine, Malik, Shah, McDerrmot, Pomersbach and Beer yet to play.
Does anyone know if all these blokes are playing or do I need to make changes ?

Graeme Swann has retired from International and First-Class cricket.

Spinner walks out midway through Ashes series

Graeme Swann has quit international cricket with immediate effect.

Swann, 34, has had a Commonwealth Bank Ashes series to forget, and revealed Australia clinching the Ashes series with thumping Test victories in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth had played a part in his decision to walk out on the team mid-way through the series.

"I know people will be surprised by the suddenness of the decision and the fact that I’m making myself unavailable for the final two Tests of the Ashes series," Swann said.

"I’d hoped that, when we walked out for the fifth Test in Sydney on January 3, it would have been with a chance of winning or retaining the Ashes. But that has gone now," Swann was quoted in the Daily Mail.

In a statement released by the England and Wales Cricket Board, Swann said: "After a great deal of consideration I have decided to call it a day on my international and first-class career," Swann said. "This decision has been very difficult seeing as the England team has been my family for seven years now, but I feel that now is the right time to step down.

“I don't regret a single day of my career. Every high has been celebrated with verve and vigour and every low painfully accepted as a chance to learn and improve.

"My personal highlights include the three Ashes victories, of which I will cherish for the rest of my life, and the World T20 victory in the West Indies which ranks as my limited-overs highlight.

"I have met, played with and against, and become friends with some magnificent people throughout my journey and feel truly privileged to have been given these opportunities.

"I'd also like to pay tribute to both Northamptonshire County Cricket Club for giving me my grounding in the game and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club for turning me into the cricketer I wanted to be.

"Two Championship titles and my maiden one-day final victory with the Outlaws are also achievements of which I am immensely proud.

"With two games to go in Australia and then a fiercely competitive summer against Sri Lanka and India I feel that it is a great time for someone else to strap themselves in and hopefully enjoy the ride as much as I have.

"Finally I'd like to thank all my England team mates for their non-stop support and camaraderie and of course wish Andy Flower and Alastair Cook all the success in the world for the future. First and foremost I am a fervent England fan at heart."

Swann's seven wickets in the current series have cost 560 runs, coming at an average of 80 with an economy rate touching four an over.

Those figures are a far cry from his Test average of 29.96 at less than three runs an over. He has taken 255 wickets in 60 Tests.

He has also averaged just 7.2 with the bat in the current series, well down on his career average of 22.09

Swann was instrumental in England's 3-0 Ashes series win in the UK earlier this year where he was England's leading wicket taker with 26 scalps.

Swann's announcement comes as Monty Panesar played a weekend match with Sydney grade cricket side Wests, where he took one wicket.

England team director Andy Flower said: “Graeme Swann has made an outstanding contribution to the England cricket team in all formats throughout an incredibly successful career and I would like to congratulate him on all that

They're all in the squad of 13, and are all pretty much locked in playing.

Well I'm screwed already I think. Did not know there was rain in Hobart and now all my players locked into team despite no real game on. I'm sure that means at reduced overs I lose out over those with more players from other games.

Yeah I know that's a killer, fortunately for me I only have Bollinger playing in this one. Hopefully if the batsman are just smashing he might be able to pick up a couple of wickets if I'm lucky.

At least there is good weather in Brisbane for tonights match.
