Very interesting stuff, I am looking forward to these.

Bowlers seem to be more negatively affected by the new scoring system.
Not so sure yet (especially with the "other" rule changes yet to be reflected in the stats) ... am starting to think most players are over priced to start with as they are based on last years scoring metrics (that would appear to be a given) ...

- Batsman lose the boundaries bonus and runs above balls faced ... but if they can score enough (20+) get a run rate bonus ...
- So the old 2 boundary hit wonder loses out .... (opening or lower order hitters ??)

- Bowlers need to now bowl at least 3 overs to get a "possible" economy rate bonus added ...
- So the old 2 part time overs means bugger all unless you have a lot of dot balls or take a wicket ...

I'm envisaging a totally different set of strategies and stats depending on whether you Bat or Field first ....
- The new set of rules don't appear to favour early 1st inning specialist / depth bowlers to me unless they take a wicket ... easily subbed out of the game ...

Just as an example I've been pondering ...

- 1st innings Fielding team uses a specialist / depth bowler early on and he gets absolutely tonked ....
- What do you do ... X amount of runs needed to be made up so why bowl him another over and look to bring in a different player that could possibly be capable of making up the deficit .... might be a lot of additional pressure added to specialist / depth bowlers early on in the 1st innings ...

Just those number of games played .. what was the injury last year or reason for missing games ??
I think Faulkner might've been more so managed and rested for specific games last year, rather than missing them through an actual injury if I recall correctly. Which isn't ideal from a SC perspective, but I think that's what HOB did to ensure he made it through the season, they didn't play him in a couple of short turnaround games or games where they had to fly somewhere off a short break, etc.

Hi mate

Any word on if Coleman & Larkin are getting resigned.

Luke Wright as a short term replacement player ???

Cheers
Nah I've got no idea on that. I'm yet to get back down to Melbourne as playing cricket at my home town for the first few rounds before Premier Cricket starts up again next weekend, so haven't been able to pickup any 'tips' from the boys in and around the state squad and stuff really.

How about something like this?

McDermott / Holt

DShort VC, Stoinis C, Maxwell, Ingram, Handscomb / Wells, Davies

Zampa, Faulkner, Jack's, NCN, Billy / Sutherland, Widermuth

Rd 2
Outs : 3 x Stars
Ins : 3 x Strikers
remarkable

I have a draft side with 10 of the same 11 onfield players 😀

but couldn't get Wells on my starting bench

Now that we have a clearer picture of international avaliability and likely 11s for the first games, thought id finally make a team. Not sure how much Carey will be but I want him for that final spot, and am happy to downgrade a Handscomb/Ingram to facilitate if required.

Pretty stock standard team, however I'm extremely surprised to see Heazlett's ownership at 0%. He's been making a mountain of grade runs ( 4 100s this season already) and likely opens the batting. Has a ridiculous List A average of 54 through 20 games, and I think playing an anchor role with Bryant/Lynn at 2 and 3 will work. Should get the opening role until Banton arrives, then probably down to 4 or 5.

I think this year is Sutherlands coming of age, has bowled very well in the shield the last 12 months. Last summer was still a bit raw but looks to have filled out his body a bit more. With a weak gades tail probably bats 7 too.

Would love some feedback, this forum this preseason so far has been absolutely outstanding help
