Now that we have a clearer picture of international avaliability and likely 11s for the first games, thought id finally make a team. Not sure how much Carey will be but I want him for that final spot, and am happy to downgrade a Handscomb/Ingram to facilitate if required.

Pretty stock standard team, however I'm extremely surprised to see Heazlett's ownership at 0%. He's been making a mountain of grade runs ( 4 100s this season already) and likely opens the batting. Has a ridiculous List A average of 54 through 20 games, and I think playing an anchor role with Bryant/Lynn at 2 and 3 will work. Should get the opening role until Banton arrives, then probably down to 4 or 5.


I think this year is Sutherlands coming of age, has bowled very well in the shield the last 12 months. Last summer was still a bit raw but looks to have filled out his body a bit more. With a weak gades tail probably bats 7 too.

Based on the current fixtures , Carey will miss the first game of Round 2.

Heazlett seems pricey to start as a bench player.

Sutherland is in the Australian A Squad so again is likely to miss Round 1 , these fixtures are subject to change though depending on where the first test is played.

Jacks appears to be a replacement player (listed as such on their website today) so looks like he will only play when Paul and Lamichanne can't , I am not 100% certain if he can act as a replacement player for both or only 1 player.

Looks a strong enough side though

I am guessing your Round 2 trades will be :-

Maxwell to Renshaw (then swap with Sutherland so you can field Wells)
Coulter-Nile to Siddle
Zampa to Rashid Khan

Might not be the case for everyone, but he's on my never-again list after he absolutely burned me either last season or the season before. Started at basement price and came in off absolutely storming domestic one-day form, and did very little, and worse, got shunted around the order too. Possibly as you say he gets a bit more opportunity here without Banton, but... ehhhh.

🤔 I don't too much about Bazley or Parker

Heat are currently missing 6 from Round 1 , so he might play if not his DPP allows the linkage with Wildermuth.

3 x $ 42 players gives me my desired starting team , always can make adjustment trades down the track if needed.


Parker is the young leggie , possibly a chance to play if the Hurricanes go 4 + 1 then Jacks & Short.

Just work out when Paul & Lamichanne actually arrive and then you know when Jacks plays , provided their is clarity on which player he is actually replacing.

Otherwise everything team should be able to have 5 OS players on their roster and just pick the 3 they want for any given game.

Essentially Sutherland is a bench player.

Your Round 2 - > bench should be

Davies , Sutherland/Wildermuth
Stanlake , Wildermuth/Sutherland

If your 3 playing players can then say rise $ 50 - $ 60 they have done their job.

4 very obvious cheap downgrade targets when the Test series is over.
