Haven’t really looked at many of the thunder players as of yet but will list the options and work through what potentially may happen:

Sams
Cutting
Milne
Green
Cook

Tremain
Nair
T. Sangha
Doggett
McAndrew

The top 5 are the most likely to start for the Thunder. Tremain probably plays if Cutting and Sams occupy 6 and 7 in the batting order (which is likely).

I’m hopeful that T.Sangha gets a crack this season but if Cook starts well, it’s hard to see him getting an opportunity.

Cheers mate

Was just looking through possible bench bowler options other than Ahmad & Wildermuth , and came across Tremain (Doggett same price)

That 6th bowling spot could be anyone's.

I can't see them fitting in Davies so :-

Hales , Khawaja , Ferg , Sweepologist , Keeper looks likely Top 5

How do we see Stars spinners position within the starting team?

Zampa
Khan Z
Hinchliffe
Maxy

Edit: Oh I just printed the info off too.
See two below 😁

I'm thinking one of..

McDermott
Handscomb

Which one, if not both?
Prefer McDermott myself but if they are batting 5 & 6 might not be of much value.

McDermott should open , but if he doesn't not sure.

Handscomb probably gets the gloves.

Problem is the likes of Bancroft , Whiteman , Peirson , Gotch , Dunk , Gilkes etc etc don't look much better as starting picks.

Does Philippe back up last season ?

Where will Inglis end up batting ?

Where is Carey playing ?

Where will Harper bat ?

I guess it depends if you are aiming on having Bairstow as your keeper when he arrives and if you use McDermott/Handscomb as a stepping stone.

Hinchliffe will depend if they play a 3rd quick or not , although Stoinis will bowl more often so depends if they still want 3-4 spin options.

Looks like they can get 2 OS replacements as well so who knows who they are likely to be at this stage.

Running a side by side look, I don't see too much difference.

Yes it's a tricky one.
McDermott didn't do as well batting at 3, and Handscomb did his best at 5 I think.
@Cricket98 has them at 4 & 5

Did McDermott bat better when he had the gloves on? If he didn't maybe Handscomb takes the gloves? 🤔 $5k diff too.

Send a email to CA & Hohn's and ask them where McDermott will bat 😀

For some reason , I thought he opened a few seasons ago (looks like he has never opened ever in a T20 game) so no idea who I was getting him mixed up with.

Short should open , Ingram should bat 4.

Looks like Jacks opened 10 times out of 12 in the Vitality Blast so maybe :-

1. Short
2. Jacks
3. Wright
4. Ingram
5. McDermott
6. Handscomb

problem is 4 of them could all open or Bat 3 , 5 or 6.

McDermott's only 💯 came when he batted 3.

His 4 50's have all come at # 4.

good lord Hurricanes

Was just looking at Malan , he bats 1-4 as well

they could very well change the order every game 😀

we will all be stuffed if suddenly Short is 4 or 5

Anyone with info on what Carey is doing?

I think from a pure competitive POV the best spot for him to improve a side is the Heat as an anchor opener for the rest to bat around but honestly I have no idea what will happen.

Heat's Squad is complete.

Either stay at the Strikers or going to the Stars.

I had to have a look for his hundred batting 3.
Game 24, 2016/17
We could almost say he opened, Paine out first ball.
I hope we see that form this BBL
I have been pretty keen on McDermott but after having a look at his scores not so sure now.

Hopefully they have a couple of practice games to see if we can understand their Batting lineup.

Not great but also not devastating to me .... priced at a 31 average in a team where Bailey often didn't get a chance to bat last year ...
- Not a bad initial placeholder at his starting price until you get in a Phillipe, Banton, Pooran, Bairstow, Billings etc ...

I had Dunk at one stage but the potential risk was too great and left me more exposed than I'd like ...

Just need Jacks & Ingram to fail early so McDermott gets a fair hit.

Doubt he rises enough to get close to Bairstow (should be available Round 4) , what would he need to average to make say a $ 50 - 60 k profit quickly ?

I guess if he scores 35-40 it is acceptable then try and get him to Banton Round 8.

Billings & Pooran will bat too low plus Pooran is only playing 6 games.

Banton will be tempting.

Gotch/Dunk is annoying because they could rotate them.

Carey missing Game 1 of Round 2 is annoying.

Bancroft could bat 3 until Livingstone & Roy arrive.

Maybe just as easy to piggy back Gilkes & Holt together then swing Gilkes to the bat bench.

Think you need to get McDermott to the bat bench ASAP.

Almost tempted to try and start Philippe then swing him to Bairstow in Round 7.

A ~75 average would get him into that ball park ($54k) on preliminary projections in three games but other varaibles will obviously come into play ...

Had a look at Gilkes but not sure where he fits in batting wise ... and Billings looming on the radar ...

Not planning on holding a HOB Bat/Wkp for too long .. just enough to see me through at least 3 rounds ...
