Suspect Maxi might be a popular captain after this! I say this every year but he is the best player in the world to watch in full flight, great to see him back in the runs!
I hope he gets enough of a bat in a 20 over match, that is my main concern. He was in awful form in the IPL, the last 20 over matches he played, and I was considering leaving him out based on that, but with Stoinis hurting himself in the first one dayer, and his 50 over form, think he's almost a must pick. Captain though? I'll wait to see the team selection and probable batting spot.

Maxwell loves batting at 4 for the Stars so I expect that will be the case again this season. If Z Khan isn’t available for the first game or two then there’s a decent chance Maxy bowls a few overs during the first two matches I reckon.

Would be great to get some clarity on Stoinis’ bowling prospects. If he can’t bowl then Maxy is almost preferred as captain I reckon.

1st Day of Quarantine

12.05am 2nd December , 2020
So if each of the 4 Afghani’s are to do their 14 days quarantine and they all started at the same time then they will be available from 16 December hence missing two matches each.

This would also mean that Noor is here for just one match, seems crazy.

Maybe their is a issue with Tahir.

Give the Renegades a call they might explain what's happening.

90% sure this will be my team, dependant on team announcements ofc

very similar to others which i dont like too much, but the structure seems too good

Both Maxwell & Jacks on the bowl line is interesting , although I do like your batting line.

Reasons for not being interested in Stanlake or Hussain ?

Expect most sides will have 6-8 similar starting players.

So far, I've got:

WK: Nielsen
BAT: D. Short, Stoinis, Maxwell, Jacks, Cartwright, Christian
BWL: Zampa, Coulter-Nile, Ellis, Stanlake, Hussain

$380,000 to spend on 4 players. Taking a risk with 7 Stars. Willing to forgo one of Stoinis (injury) or Zampa (consistent but not explosive) to free up some cash for proven, team secure Strikers. Not sold on the likes of Wildermuth (inexperience), Ahmad (inexperience, availability), Turner (batting position), Bryant (role), etc and would prefer to bring them in after some body of evidence.

Good luck all!
Depending who your keeper is will determine your remaining bench players.

Think you can afford one of Renshaw/ Salt/Weatherald/Wells

Bryant , Hughes , Turner , Wildermuth are probably the best bench options with JS so if you are not keen on them not sure who you would go , 2 cheapie $ 42k players , a deliberate donut for VC/C.

Not sure if the likes of Bartlett , Parker etc if named Round 1 will play enough games to make relevant $$$

mmm havent thought bout what will happen if hughes does really well as emergency and ellis fails, but will probably get hussain if ellis fails, but i wont bench lynn or khawaja if hughes does well, so will probably get another striker maybe not too sure

edit: kinda went off topic haha, but you made me think about some things so thanks haha

If Hughes scores well enough probably swap Stoinis & Bazley , then move Weatherald on field to take Hughes score.

But then if Ellis scores well also you would then have Maxy , Stoinis , NCN & Zampa on field.

I guess just hope they don't both score 75+ or something.

If Stoinis is out , everything changes anyway.

I think sides will start becoming different Round 3 onwards , a lot will then depending on who people are trading out to get who they want in and who they can keep.

Heat expected to announce 3 LRP's tomorrow.

If the rules are the same as last season , that would mean all 3 would be in the XIII for their opening game and at least 1 would be in the final XI

Any major concern ?

Think he & Fawad are the only spinners the Scorchers have.

With Marsh not ready to bowl , Turner might get some overs before Livingstone arrives unless they just play 4 quick + Fawad.
I had some issues watching the latter part of the telecast, but I didn’t see anything overly concerning injury wise. I find that Agar often looks a bit awkward when batting, but he only managed a run a ball when Aus clearly needed more, so his running may have been hindered somewhat.

Yeah he definitely wasn't able to run twos on a number of instances where they would have been clearly on for a fit batsman. Really unfortunate, one to monitor.

Also, the Stars have signed Andre Fletcher to replace Bairstow:

Article says he’s available until around Australia Day. So I take it he’s available from the Stars first game.

He’s a wicketkeeper too so should get WK/BAT status making him an interesting option for our starting teams.

Now that the Stars have finalised their list, I think this will be their most likely starting XI;

Stoinis
Fletcher
Cartwright
Maxwell
Larkin
Dunk/Gotch
Coulter-Nile
Z Khan/Hinchliffe
Zampa
Hussain
Stanlake

As has been stated, it’s unlikely Z Khan will play game 1 for the Stars as he will still be in quarantine but still waiting confirmation on this.

Interesting signing. He seems to average 22 in T20Is with half a dismissal per game. Doesn’t seem that compelling to me quality-wise, and I don’t think he’d be a major crowd puller ... might as well just play the likes of Dunk?

Ie I’m not sure why you’d go to the trouble of signing an international replacement unless they were improving the quality of whoever they replace in your XI? I guess you never know who’s going to get injured etc.

Pakistan media reporting that the PCB have issued a NOC for Imad Wasim to play BBL.

T20I'S are on Dec 18 , 20 & 22.

If he doesn't stay back with the Test Squad something doesn't add up at the Renegades for me.

I think Nabi may miss a large chunk of the tournament with international duty, same goes for R. Khan.
