Woah. You have only 2 players on-field who don't have a D.G.W. coming right up. O_O
Perhaps I'm doing this slightly wrong, as I have 5, in: Inglis, Hales, Davies, Sams, and Tye.
I'm inclined now to trade one of these to Big Billy. Which of these would you get rid of first? Not Inglis! I'm big on him. :)
Don’t let us lead you astray up the garden path!

We all have slightly different ideas, and it’s great that people share different perspectives as that tests our own thinking. If you have a plan, I suggest back yourself and stick to it. Sure, you can tweak it if something unravels, but keep backing your logic and gut instinct.

We will all have could’ve should’ve would’ve and rotten luck stories to tell in hindsight! The winner of this comp will have done something different to the rest of us so no point all being exactly the same!

Thanks, Diabolical, but they've kind of convinced me that my way is slightly inferior. I still have my P.O.D.s, but now, I have just slightly fewer players who don't have a great schedule. Still not sold on McDermott, though!

I've been wondering why I've been making the top 1%, but always missing out on that elusive top 100. I think this is the little tweak I needed to help me achieve that. ;)

S Harper. (L Pfeffer)

D Short, G Maxwell, C Lynn, C Ingram, H Cartwright, (J Weatherald, M Bryant.)

A Zampa, W Jacks, N Coulter-Nile, N Ellis, D Hussain. (M Renshaw, J Wildermuth)

No Stoinis in my squad could be dangerous.
Possibly too much money on the bench but sets up well for round 2.

thinking he might be a better option than Turner if i can find the cash. at least he’s guaranteed to get a hit.
Turner v Bryant is one I’ve been tossing up for a while now. X-factor rule has me leaning towards Bryant plus his recent form albeit in grade cricket is encouraging.

I don't know if Weatherald will be ready, he had to take a break after burning himself out supposedly doing 8 hour days in the nets before the season.
The unknown added appeal with Turner is will he bowl? If so, how often?
That's the thing, even before his injury Turner's bowling wasn't being used much by WA or the Scorchers from what I remember. I'm also a bit worried he might bat lower than Bancroft and Whiteman who really aren't they types you want trying to up the run rate late in an innings. That and his top score this year is 18- in a 2nd XI game!

Cheers mate, I was aware of the Weatherald issue, will monitor how it plays out.

Sorry, but it's the same old-same old for Studlake. He's not recapturing any form; he'll cost the same at the end of the year.

He'll be an option for me, but I won't be starting with him. Anyone else feel similar?
You should only need to field him for round one and move on. I'll take the punt.

Beyond round 1, we just need him to jag two wickets and score 60+ in a match to kickstart some $$ generation and cash him out. Failing to do so well then he can keep the bench warm all season (bench depth will be nowhere near as important this season post round 3).

Turners took 11 wickets in an 8 year career and is behind Kelly,Richardson,Behrendorff,Tye and Ahmed, really think his bowling prospects are being overhyped, Munro,Agar,Marsh and Livingstone will all also be bowling options at different stages of the tournament.

Not an option for me. I can easily see him ending up as a list clogger. Too crap to start, too cheap to upgrade, not making money, not even any use as an overpriced donut.
I’ve lost faith in Billy.

It's more interesting to see who isn't doing well eg. Stanlake can go the journey at pretty much any level.

You have to wonder whether the Heat's less than inspiring lineup will have an impact on him as well. They could be starting off with 4+ players in the XI who probably wouldn't get a game for anyone else.
They could be in even more pain if Gregory is in the Squad for Sri Lanka , reports I have seen have them taking 18-22 players.

Their side didn't look inspiring even when Banton , Gregory , Morkel & Mujeeb were going to be available.

Something not right with their setup.

They might have to bring McCullum out of retirement 😀

ECB might be worried about the remaining 5 players in South Africa as well going straight to the Indian series after BBL , might try and give them a break somewhere along the line.

BBL09:
A Turner: 7 matches for 1 over
Spin/Slow: 91.1 overs
Other: 161.2 overs

BBL08:
A Turner: 14 matches for 1 over
Spin/Slow: 56 overs
Other: 208.1 overs

BBL07:
A Turner: 11 matches for 0 overs
Spin/Slow: 44 overs
Other: 174 overs

BBL06:
A Turner: 10 matches for 14 overs
Spin/Slow: 45 overs
Other: 144.2 overs

Past 4 BBL Seasons= 236.1 overs of Spin/Slow from a possible 924 overs which equates to 25.56%.
Turner has bowled 16 of those 236.1 overs which equates to 6.78% of the slower paced overs bowled by A Turner.

Better bowler than his recent performance has shown and a change of scenery may be all he needs, Hussain just dominated the PSL and is cheaper though so will be the one for me as long as he's cleared from quarantine.

What am I missing with Ashton Turner ?

$ 62,500.00

Played for his country

Bowling again after 2-3 shoulder operations.

Green , Livingstone , Roy missing

Agar & Marsh likely to miss early

Thought with his credentials and price he is the lockiest lock possible for a bench spot.

To be honest, there’s one key thing for me.

Batting at 5. Maybe 6 from round 4.

Hes not batting any higher than 5 and He's never bowled with enough regularity to be relying on it to score.
