Preuss gets Gawn and Grundy in rnds 3 and 4 and NicNat in rnd 10. He doesn't make a lot of money early and his cash generation gets stalled before the byes, and he has the first bye so can't be slungshot. Gawn has a clean run at the start of the year and his price might not drop that much. I don't think Preuss is a bad pick in isolation but is it worth locking in a trade for a neutral result and how do you get to Gawn if he just keeps trucken?
Preuss v Gawn is a big question mark for me but for me, Gawn is potentially overpriced (although potentially so is Neale, Clarry and Jake Lloyd who are all in my team at the moment), so I have Grundy Preuss as my ruck lineup.

Agree with this. With Mummy still on their list and Preuss not having much experience as #1 ruck at AFL level, it wouldn’t surprise me if Preuss was rested/if this was routed at times next year.
Isn't their massive wraps on one of Briggs or Flynn as well ? surely they get games into them before clubs come knocking

anyone got their eye on a defender in that 160k-250k range this year? there's usually a good pick there and it can help with structure if you have someone near rookie price with good js who you can put at d4/5 without taking on too much risk of a donut. but no one stands out to me there at first blush.

Gawn and Grundy locked away for me I think. I feel a lot better paying 700+ for max than I do for Neale.

First glance team looks like

Laird, Stewart, Ridley + Rookies
Oliver, Macrae, Titch, Cripps, Green + Rookies
Gawn, Grundy, Treacy
Dunkley, Marshall, Heeney, Rozee, Brown + Rookies

Gives about 130k each for rookies.

OK I am curious, which 4 are different ?
Hehe - wasn’t trying to be mysterious! They are:

Lloyd - gun, but probably overpriced based on history (short quarters?)

Whitfield - muscled out by other defs, game count always a concern, albeit some good discussion this year that many of his incidents are unlikely to recur

Fyfe - similar to Whitfield, albeit there are actually few premium mids I am keen to start at prevailing pricing, which is unusual

Dusty - very solid pick, just feel he won’t hurt me much if I aim to get him later

which Brown ? Callum or Ben ?

does Jones get a gig ahead of Bonner Round 1 ? DBJ, Hartlett, Houston tough defence to break into

Promised myself i wouldn't look at anything supercoach until Feb, but i just couldn't stay away! Might have also been into the team picker already, whoops.

Hi my name's Andrew and I'm an addict.

So a question: is Pruess actually any good? Honestly ive never seem him play!

that was in October though so will have to remember why now

not going without the Seagull again, his price hardly deviates

Whitfield think because he is a D he became a lock

Fyfe is life, start and leave a trade for when he gets injured

Dusty every year the same question, start him or pick him up later

Lot will change when I start thinking about it all, but will definitely be changing my mids now that Treloar has gone.

Looks like $ 300 k value at M5 probably F4 as well.

when is Round 1 ? March something

Haven't seen Ugle-Hagan mentioned in a team yet, wouldn't he have the best JS of them all ?

I remember passing on Anderson this season because of his starting price , he probably was one of the better rookie mids to own in the end.

I think there are good arguments to start all of those 4 - they’re just not in my top 3-5 by line.

Shortened quarters/maybe other factors or just luck seem to have made pricing a bit more “variable” than most years ... there are few premo mids I like, but heaps of $300k types that 2-4 years ago I probably would have been trying to squeeze in, at least in early drafts.

I’m thinking my side more in terms of who I can lock in (subject to fitness) as a starting pick I’m happy with. They may not be a lock in the usual sense, but they’re players I’d be happy to confirm as starters based on what we know now, assuming they have an okay preseason and start R1.

That’s actually a subset of the premiums currently in my picker side, so it’s a select group.

All makes perfect sense to me, time to focus back on the BBL.

I think he’ll do well as an aggressive ruckman in that side. He’s tall so should win taps and then follows up with tackles. Can kick a goal as well. Problem is he seems to get injured regularly. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s picks up something in the PS and isn’t available round 1.

Neale, Oliver, Lloyd and Gawn are all too overpriced for me. Could be hard to trade them all in, of all of them I think Gawn is the one I'd pay overs for.

Him being 30 next year at that price is far from ideal but not having him could really hurt if you go for someone like Preuss and they fail.

Could I get some opinions on this team. I feel like I'm overpaying on a lot of players but theres really no midpricers that I like so I'm just chasing early points.

Edit looks way over budget. Not sure what you’re using but might have a bug allowing you to go over budget.

Todd Marshall averaged 82 for the first seven weeks before breaking his thumb against St Kilda in round 8. If he can eliminate the 38s and 51s he could be a great pick with that type of form.
