Not sure he will play every game this year, but he does look like a good player in the future/when playing. Hawks played pretty much their whole list last year to trial them in the second half of the season to see who was worth keeping. I would look elsewhere personally, but if he is named in Rd 1 (I don't expect he will), it is very good signs, and he could work.

The midfield options seem much more short this year compared to previous years. Only the three most expensive (Neale, Steele, Oliver) + Cripps seem to be really solid options. The Doggies midfield really throws a spanner in the works with Treloar threatening Macrae's and Bont's scoring, and there has to be a bit of doubt as to whether Petracca (forward risk?) and Merrett (disappointing 2018/19 seasons) can back up their averages.

Mitchell looks to be a good option, I am less convinced on Cripps. Whilst he had shoulder issues, the constant attention and tagging seem to wear him down.
The last game of 26 clearly underprices him by 3-4 points. How did the shoulder impact him, given his tackle count was solid through the year.
What is noticeable is his poor scoring games are mostly where his kick/handball ratio falls below 1, suggesting close attention sees him move to a handball game.
Each year it is hard to predict how many taggers there will be, just don't think he can wear the attention like Fyfe can, yet seems to have constant bodyguard whilst the seagull players can pick off the chips at will. Will review in preseason games.
anyone looking at Taylor Adams with no Treloar? highlighted in dream team article elsewhere, stacks up he does well ex Treloar.

I would highly advise against Cunnington and fail to see any value in the selection.
Has never recorded a Time on Ground Percentage at or above 80%.
Career high TOG% of 78.5% in 2019.
Poor kick to handball ratio.
Doesn't accumulate enough of the ball to be relevant or worthy of selection in SC.
His best season of his career only translated to a 102 avg (2019).
Only averaged 110.54 pre byes in 2019 for his career best form.
Inconsistent and prone to record many scores below 80.
Emerging young group of midfielders at North Melbourne doesn't bode well for his prospects.
The absolute maximum and best case scenario for Cunnington is an average between 100-103. The likely situation will involve him averaging low to mid 90's and with other holes to fix throughout the season you do not want to be stuck with him at M6-M8 etc.
