with Sams ruled out for 3 games, I'm scrapping my complex loop strategy and instead just selling Sams to Wade. Leaves me with the following team

Philippe \ Inglis (E)
Wade, McDermott, Short (C), Hales, Munro \ Finch (E), Pfeffer
Maxwell (VC), Stoinis, Zampa, Jhye, Christian \ Livingstone (E), Owen

Edit: I'm holding off the Sams/Wade trade since I can wait right up until Hurricanes name their final teams before I commit. If Wade is out, my contingency plan is to buy Boland instead (sneaky little pod with a low BE and can go big)

Quality player available for the whole season , certainly would have considered him from the start myself but generally load up on DGR options from the start.

Really hope from a cricket sense he turns it on soon.

Not to many better white ball cricketers in world cricket when he is in full flight.
Yep, totally agree. Finch has been in my team for two rounds now riding the pine. Hope he impresses tonight with over 40 SC points. I'ld grab that in a heartbeat and bench Livingstone who averages 44.

Hey, that doesn't seem right either.

For those wondering about the availability of test players :-

https://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/p...-after-he-opts-to-return-to-wa-ng-b881774330z

Nathan Lyon and Cameron Green will miss the end of the BBL season as Cricket Australia push for exemptions to have most Test players return to their clubs.

BBL clubs are expected to start welcoming back Test players from as soon as Thursday night, after uncertainty over borders clouded their availability.

But the bowlers won’t return after a tough end to the Test summer.

Lyon has told the first-placed Sydney Sixers he will skip the end of the tournament because he is desperate to spend time with his family.

Fellow Sixer Mitchell Starc will also miss at least the first few games back, after heading straight to Sydney for scans on his leg.

If fit, the left-armer could come back for the club in the finals in what would be his first BBL match since 2015.

Green will also miss the end of the tournament for the Perth Scorchers, after returning to Western Australia for a rest while spending in 14 days of quarantine.

But otherwise, it’s anticipated the majority of players will be made available from as soon as Thursday night.

The Strikers, Brisbane Heat and Sixers all have games in South Australia in the next two days, with CA still sorting out who will be rested.

The list of players includes Travis Head and Michael Neser for the the Adelaide Strikers, Mitchell Swepson and Marnus Labuschagne for the Brisbane Heat and the Sixers’ Moises Henriques and Sean Abbott.

If the Heat and Sixers players are not cleared to travel to Adelaide, they will at least be able to return for their clubs over the weekend with games in Melbourne.

Meanwhile, Matthew Wade and Tim Paine are among those now able to play when Hobart and Perth face off on Friday night at Marvel Stadium.

Wade will walk straight back into the team, but it remains to be seen if Paine will be picked for his first Twenty20 match in three years for the Hurricanes.

Renegades opener Marcus Harris will also be available from Saturday, given he was already set to miss Wednesday’s derby with the Melbourne Stars.

James Pattinson however won’t be fit and nor will Will Pucovski for the Stars.

Fellow Test squad members Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Steve Smith and David Warner don’t have BBL contracts.

It comes as CA confirmed that the January 26 match between Perth and Brisbane would be played in Adelaide, after it had to be moved from Sydney for COVID-19 reasons.

Now wait on Zampa

Tye - >

See what Sams & Khawaja can get me tomorrow or Wednesday
Will be interesting whether Zampa plays or not. Admittedly he played the second game of his double, but I was watching him during the warm-up and he seemed to be carring his left arm, he also seemed to spend a bit of time on the bench, even up to when he bowled the last over in his second game.

Apparently he has been having right shoulder issues before he hurt his left shoulder.

And then their was that game where he got smashed in the right foot and left foot when bowling.

Don't know whether a rest for 2-3 days helps or he just keeps getting a jab.

Are you attending tonight's game by any chance ?

I seem to recall Wade wasn't released at that time but Travis was :). I am sure it was an administrative error at the time. Wouldnt mind taking the punt on Travis considering Sams is out of action.
Travis for NYE was an exemption from CA, this time he has to deal with SA Health who may not be as accommodating.
Also in doubt would be Heat & Sixers test players for the game on Australia Day now that it's been moved to Adelaide.
Need to see how this unfolds before rushing in to grab any of them.

It's a odd one for Head , as he must be in individual quarantine in Adelaide.

Strikers v Heat tomorrow
Sixers v Thunder Friday

both games at Adelaide Oval.

I may have this wrong, but I think it would have to do with the hard border SA has with Sydney and the 3rd test.
Head as a Sth Ozzy has to quarantine for 14 days.
For anyone else ie Neser there is no entry.
I imagine this is what CA is discussing with SA Gov.

Right on the money from what I have just been reading.

Needs to be a tennis player to make a fuss.

What I don't understand is they have been in bio-security bubble from Sydney - > Adelaide - > Melbourne - > Sydney - > Brisbane so have been supposedly under stricter measures than Joe/Jill Citizen.

I guess the State Government's need to try and treat every one under the same rule though otherwise it will get even more messy.

Our border restrictions are changing seemingly every day so near on impossible to keep up to date with it all.

Just wait for a official announcement from the Strikers.

Labuschagne , Swepson, Abbott & Henriques would be in doubt for Rd13 unless there is some change in restrictions.
With Sams out I was thinking a straight swap to Abbott, but if he is potentially only playing 1 game before the finals, I'll look to spend elsewhere.

Abbott , Lyon & Wade were the 3 I had earmarked for this round so just spent half hour working out a few different options with Lyon now not playing.

Happy to wait if I have to on Abbott although the I was hoping his BE would be higher.

Sams out opens up all sorts of possibilities moving forward.
