I always thought Buddy was at his striking best when he was thrown into the centre bounce as a surprise. Very hard to match up on - I have memories of him showing oppoments the ball as he stormed away from the circle*

I would take Walters and Hawkins out of that group. Freo are now having trouble finding midfield spots for the young blokes let alone Walters. I would put Fyfe as a mid in the same category. Even though Hawkins is in good shape he is 33 this year and will now share with Cameron. To a lesser extent I also wouldn't plan for a 32 year old Zorko to maintain his scoring.

Hmm, I was kind of keen of Fyfe as an ''non-overpriced mid'' I thought one of the best midfielders in the comp is still going to be in the midfield a hell of a lot even while developing Brayshaw, Serong, Cerra. Plus with the new interchange cap lowered and longer quaters back I figured that just helps account for Fyfes time sitting forward. Am I wrong thinking all this? Do you not think Fyfe goes 115+?

He’ll be between 110-120 as always
The only issue is the body and history of missing games. I’d still rather pick Tom Mitchell at that price with his lack of pre season knowing that he will still play 22 games. Each to their own though it’s the first year I’m not starting Fyfe as I’m sick of trading him out

Safe options the go in a year we are back to 30 trades. We were all trade happy last year and I’m not falling into that trap in 2021

30 this year, some very good emerging players that need the game time, 115 looks like his ceiling now. Freo would be more interested in getting him to the finals in one piece than playing every game in the guts. It's not that he can't be a handy pick but I don't think it's necessary to expose yourself to the risk.

I think Fyfe could be ok if we were able to trade him in, out, and back in like last season.

I don't see much upside for Higgins because I expect he'll play a forward role. I am curious why you think he could be a good pick?

Between 2018 and 2019 at Hawthorn, J Impey averaged 70.82 from 39 matches. Excluding the 19 SC from 21% TOG in RD18 2019, it moves the figure to 72.18 from 38 matches.

Since joining Hawthorn, Impey averages 15.77 disposals per game.
SC avg when disposals equal/exceed 16: 81.64 from 22
SC avg when disposals below 16: 52.86 from 22

People just need to accept his role is not necessarily what they want him to do for SC though.

Expectations are way different to reality.

Worth noting that last year his role was very bad, worse than normal. For mine Heeney as a pick depends a lot on Buddy's fitness, if Buddy is there then Heeney can release, if he's not he'll probably get stuck as a deep forward in a team that, optimistically, will be ordinary and has a long history of having a bad coach who hates giving his forwards any real chance. Heeney is a solid forward but it's far from his best role, he could be anything as a midfielder, as a forward when he's matched with elite defenders he loses his advantages.

Still like him, think he can be a low 90s guy still in that role, he's that talented, but if he can release he goes to 100+, reality is he probably gets a few games of that and ends up mid 90s.

On the flipside Fyfe as a forward is a lot more dangerous if the team is actually good. Normally it's as good as going to the bench but if Freo improve he could actually score, similar to Danger or Dusty who can still score when forward by kicking a couple.

Not sure why. Steele, Crouch, Hill, Billings, Gresham, Hanners, Ross and Jones is a pretty decent group. Throw in that Clark should be the next guy if they want the highest ceiling guys in there. I actually don't mind Higgins though, should play a nice high HF role with Butler, Kent and Lonie to man the small roles. That said, I think he's probably a mid 80s guy still so that's not enough.

I like Higgins! He scored 80 coming off brain surgery when he was not best 22 for Richmond. Elite possion winner in his draft year. Best 22. Point to prove. Dan Butlers numbers went okay from Richmond to St Kilda.

That's nothing compared to some of the posts I have read from Wogi over the years regarding Horse.

For what it is worth, I believe he is bang on - you don't realise the ineptitude of Horse's coaching until you start watching the swans play more closely. He literally is a hinderance in the way he wants them to play, taking away the natural talents/abilities of his best players - not utilising their skills at all. Mills is a classic example, this kid has the tools to be an absolute star if Horse could release the shackles/ play him in the middle & let him become an offensive weapon.
