Pretty hard for me to fit Rozee in as I’m very comfortable with Dunkley, Marshall & Heeney.

Objectively, it’s a pick that makes a lot of sense and the type I usually go for. High draft pick, top 4 team, injury affected price and a slated midfield move. Everything points in the right direction.

The reduced Nab cup fixture is going to make these picks really hard to gauge this year I reckon but he’s a clear leader for mid priced forwards if we’re counting Heeney as a discounted premium.

If I move away from my current forward structure it will be to get him in but the aforementioned premiums coupled with Ziebell & Daniher don’t leave much wiggle room.
Nice! He does have all the typical indicators for a good SC premo. Just a matter of when not if. Seems like he's out for structural reasons for you (which is understandable). I have a similar type of structure at the moment. Marshall, Heeney, Rozee or Dunkley or Dusty, Ziebell, Daniher, Cockatoo.

If you do believe that Rozee is taking the next step to the 95-100 range, wouldn't he be the priority at 377k over Dunkley at 560k though? That'd be my only query with your structural dilemma! Save 180k for say only a 5-10ppg drop. Unless you think Dunkley is going to go 110+?

Starting to cool on Rozee. Looks like his high scores last year correlated with easier teams rather than CBA's.

I’m pretty bullish on Dunkley. If he looks to have one of the core mid roles he’s a shoe in as the #1 forward for the season I reckon.

My concerns with Rozee are that the portion size for Port mids is getting smaller and smaller with he and Butters added to the mix. I think they both push 90 this season but I can’t make a solid guess which if either goes past it.

My buddy that works for the club reckons Butters has been getting more mid time than Rozee in the pre season so I’m somewhat inclined to think he may be the one to push past.

The Dunkley - Rozee swap is the one in the back pocket that gets done if we don’t get the crop of cheap rookies.

Just on Heeney, I had him in my initial team but he’s out now and unlikely to come back.

An article from 6 days ago mentioned that he still isn’t training with the main group while he makes a slow recovery from his serious ankle injury. He may not even be right to go for round 1 but is hopeful of playing.

Also mentioned in the article is that he is likely to play majority as a forward with some stints up the ground which doesn’t bode well for his scoring potential.

Is Butters himself under consideration for you..? Not that bad an option himself if you think he can push 95-100 at 470k.

The Whitfield shuffle helped me consider a few of the Gawndy structures.

View attachment 25937

Old Team A: Stewart (replacing Whitfield) (100), Rozee (90), Neale (125), Preuss (90) + 35k
Current Team B: 123k def rookie (60), Dusty (100), Dunkley (105), Gawn (130). Could also take Walsh instead of Dunkley or Dusty.

XY numbers maybe something like: A (405) v B (395).
Current Team C involves cheating slightly and using freed up cash from DGB/Phillips to basement rookie/Powell and then pushing Dusty up to Titchell or Bont.

As much as anyone but the price is bloody awkward. Hard to have a stab at these types this year IMO. Ziebell & Daniher hopefully making it easy for us to have an early look and jump on the correct ones when the time comes.

Where I'm at right now. Potential downgrade of Kelly if I need extra cash to upgrade rookies
maybe the wrong person to ask, why is there not more love for Steele. Even I haven't considered him until today, trying to remember if there was a reason many have put a line through him. Surely the days of tagging are behind him.

I think the Brad Crouch move and the thought of him taking points off Steele perhaps. Steele runs both ways, loves a cuddle and hopefully hits the scoreboard a little more this year. Locking him in.

Throwing this out there -

Is anyone considering running some contingencies if (dare I say it) the season is once again impacted and games have shortened quarters etc? Hypothetically, how would this change your player choice and team structure?

There is an assumption that now we are in 2021, 2020 is ancient history and everything is back to normal. Well...
