surely we cant start

cripps, walsh and williams

unless...
There's no reason to not pick multiple players from the same team! There are many teams with several high scoring players and several with none (including top teams like Richmond). If they lose, they might all score ~10 below average, but if they win they might score ~10 above average.

If we had the funds and the names read Macrae Bont Daniel instead of Williams Cripps and walsh would you say no?

I don’t think there’s anything wrong going 3 blues players. They’ll win 10+ games this year and be a fringe finals team. They’ll have a Few big scorers imo
Can see
100+ Docherty Cripps walsh
90-100 Williams setterfield Saad Curnow j Martin

Normally I wouldn't care how many premiums I have loaded up from the same team, but this year
I think 3 premiums from 1 team should be ok, but 4 is probably too much.

Only going to take 1 player (or even a person living with a player) to test positive for a match to be cancelled/postponed.

Coniglio is an interesting one, no real reason for the drop off last year and could certainly bounce back. One preseason game for a guy whose role is always hard to pick at the best of times isn't ideal though.
He is the captain, he has to bounce back. Will increase his scoring but how do you pick him over Kelly or Taranto?

Oliver v Steele v Macrae

I'm really rotting with this one. With Laird in Def for me it is kinda a vs Lloyd too.

I have been a bit off the 650k guys but starting to warm to Steele.

What are people's view on a tag. As I see it there really isn't anyone else at the Saints you'd go to. If Steele really is a 120 guy for full qrts at least we'll know round one after he meets the Dutchman! Would be so much easier picking him if I know they played GWS Rd 9!

Thinking Macrae. Borderline a POD with ownership at 12%. As someone who's owned him the last 4-5 seasons, ive noticed he tends to score alot of his points in the back end of quarters and games. Shorter quarters meant less time to showcase his ridiculous fitness and gut running. I know the addition of Treloar is not ideal, but the talk from the bulldogs camp is that Dunkley/Bont will spend time forward rather than Macrae. Think Treloar has been recruited to play a fair bit of wing aswell.

Trying to mention Macrae as least as I can
Think he’s the lock of locks personally
3 120+ seasons in a row
Not overthinking it

Macrae last year across the league was ranked :-

2nd for disposals
3rd for uncontested possessions
8th for inside ’50s
17th for total centre clearances & score involvements

3rd consecutive season of averaging over 120 - 12 x 100's (6 over 130 & 3 over 160)

His only score below 90 came in the final round of 2020 - 85 v Freo.

When Hunter was out last season, Macrae was the one who played more outside & he averaged 16 points less when Hunter was out.

While his SuperCoach season was a similar level of dominance, he posted 19 tons across the season, 11 of these were over 120 and three above 150. He had just two scores all year beneath 80 and averaged 123 across the year.

There is a lot to think about with Macrae, but it's worth keeping in mind he played quite a bit on the wing in the early part of the year (rounds 2-5 in particular). In round 4 he was tagged (vs Sydney) and from memory was only on 40-50 at 3qtr time so was a big save in the final quarter to post a respectable score.

I think the issue is, Hunter is a wingman so when he is in Macrae gets great mid time, but with Hunter out Macrae shifted to more wing/outside - makes sense and is easy plan for. But Treloar is a pure mid, and centre bounce one at that.. So Macrae could end up shifting across a few different roles depending on who is on field and where. Can see that being super impactful for someone who is more of an accumulator type.

The other thing that stands out in that table, is Macrae was 90k cheaper by round 7.. and in 2019 he dropped to a similar price mid season as well. I know with these guys you start for the points not the value, but he is a chance to be gettable as an upgrade - especially as there is a chance various factors contribute to him dropping further.

Not disregarding the chance of him being an unbelievable scorer again in 2021.. just feels like there a lot of risks and a lot more role uncertainty.

"It’s what we are trying to build through the midfield – a high number of players who can go through there. We think it’s even more important with the lowering of (interchange) rotations through the year (to 75) and we think it can be a real strength for Essendon. We think we have eight or 10 who could play through the midfield or in different roles and that’s really important.” - Josh Mahoney on Essendon's midfield...

This puts a bit of a Q mark for me on any ess mid.. Shiel/Merrett/McGrath/Caldwell/Parish...

Merrett prob the strongest scoring potential out of that list though...

Two ways to view that tag in round 1.

Firstly, it's the best time to cop a tag as it's the least impact on price.

Secondly though is that if it were successful he'd be in line for a lot more tags. Obviously if he smashed it then it could well be the end. Much easier to tag guys like Billings, Hill or Clark types on the outside as well.

There are definitely decent cases against all 3 of them at their starting prices. Also decent cases for them. Probably comes down to gut feel more than anything.

Going through some of the better CP players list and was looking back at 2nd year breakouts. Fyfe jumped from 72.6(16) to 108(21), Bontempelli went from 78.6(16) to 103.2(20) and Oliver 70.3(13) to 111.5(22).
It has got me thinking of what is out there currently.
Tom Green: Only managed to play the 6 but he went at 72.6.
Noah Anderson: Went at 76.7 from 17 and has been talked up by Dew to play more inside this year.
Matt Rowell: Don't need to say anything here.
Caleb Serong: He went at 81.1 from 14.

Have been Reading the lions among every other teams training reports and Neale has been managed all pre season

Do a bit of digging on big footy from watchers and it checks out. Not sure why but hasn’t taken part in any match sim yet and has been on light duties for weeks
No mention of injury so was going to keep it quiet for everyone else to figure out but cause this community is amazing I thought I’d flag it. It’s probably nothing of note but just something I’ve picked up
Not gonna say I told you so but I told you so
