Who was the guy trying to tackle him, reckon that guy just earned himself a solid couple of months in the magoos with that kind of effort! There's arm tackles and then there's fairy tickles like that as you run away from the ball and contest.
That spin move

Tackle attempt was extremely ordinary lol.
Might’ve been Heppell ....? :ROFLMAO:

Are groin problems reoccuring?

AFL 2021, Geelong, Patrick Dangerfield, injury, AFL injury news, injury list, Chris Scott, Cats (foxsports.com.au)

............Despite carrying his injury throughout last season, the midfielder managed to make the All-Australian team and was named as captain.

He averaged 20.8 touches during the season and booted 17 goals.

Geelong coach Chris Scott praised Dangerfield’s work in 2020, resting the powerful player up forward while he was pushing through pain.

“Given we‘re of the hope and belief he can play well into his 30s, it’s important he got on top of his problem once and for all,” Scott told AFL Media.

“There is a strong argument to say that it was allowed to linger for too long last year… it clearly impeded him.

“Obviously we didn‘t want to talk about it too much and make an issue of it during the year but that was part of the reason to play him forward a little bit more.

“We think he‘s got great capacity to play as a forward, especially when he’s fully fit, but right at the moment we need him to be one of the premier midfielders in the competition and he can’t do that while he’s limited with his groin problems.”

Groin Strain: Symptoms, Treatments, and Recovery Time (healthline.com)

Groin Strain

Overview

A groin strain is an injury or tear to any of the adductor muscles of the thigh.........Sudden movements usually trigger an acute groin strain, such as kicking, twisting to change direction while running, or jumping........

Risk Factors

The primary risk factor for groin strain is playing a sport that involves kicking, turning suddenly while running, and jumping. Needing to change direction frequently is also a risk factor..........Athletes who stop training during the o***eason are more likely to lose muscle strength and flexibility while they’re not playing. This puts them more at risk of injuries if they begin training without taking the time to build up their muscle strength and flexibility...........Previous groin strain is another risk factor, since the muscle is weakened from a previous injury.............

Prevention

The best way to prevent groin strain is to avoid using the adductor muscle without proper training and preparation. Especially if you play a sport that’s likely to cause groin strain, regularly stretch and strengthen your adductor muscles.
Continue training throughout the year if possible. If you take a break from training, work back up gradually to your former level of activity to avoid straining muscles.

Thoughts on Zac Bailey and whether he can lift his game enough to be around the 90+ mark

Looks like he had a nice patch between Round 7 -13 last season , no idea if it was due to a position/role change

@McLovin might know more

Cheers

Caldwell at F1.?

Zieball Daniher Impey + 4 rooks.? FWD rookies should be enough ?

Allow 4 deep in DEF and Cumming/Young D5.

Probably a bit too risky. He can certainly score well if he gets more time on the wing but his versatility means he gets rotated around a lot and his TOG fluctuates, leading to plenty of low scores. He rotated between wing and HFF and was also used in defensive roles as a forward or defender at times during games. That could change if Robinson (looked past it for most of last year) loses his spot, Robinson averaged in the 90s in 2018 and 2019 playing on the wing. The difference is that Mitch had more high possession games and always rotated through at stoppages a bit, something Bailey hasn't done yet.

Best way to prevent is strengthen it. This is done by a sideways plank with one leg on an elevated area. This may be different to OP, Kelly once he beat it doesnt seem to have seen a repeat.

Thanks for that.

I was looking at my MPM and Lock N Load team and came across him and spiked my interest.

Can't remember whether it was last season or the one before now where they were talking about him as a option to run the ball out of defence.

Plenty of premium forwards available , think I will just stick with Heeney as my F1 at the moment.

Thanks for the response.

Pretty much agree entirely. Played a lot of roles, that purple patch was mostly on the wing. He's got a lot of really positive attributes, especially speed and kicking, but he certainly floats between roles and is better at some than others.

His lack of contested ball winning ability, to date at least, holds him back a bit in SC, especially in such a strong team where there's a lot of targets. Think ultimately he's too risky a pick, kind of guy you take a couple of rounds early in a draft league because I think he improves more likely than not but at his price he pretty much has to move to keeper level and that wing type or even rebounding defender is very difficult to get there with if you're not doing at least some of the contested type of work or intercepting as well to top up.

Good player but I think he's done well if he ends up at the Langdon, Cerra, Sheed, Worpel or Polec level of scoring this year (~90). At this point he's a fairly similar type to a Polec whose absolute best was a 95 when being fed the ball a lot but has basically been a 80-90 type the other years when fit.

Cam Rayner carving up the mids in the Lions intra excites me more than Bailey due to the genuine upside. Likely not this year but it when the break out happens we all better be ready to jump on!

First post, been reading these forums for the past couple of weeks! Some good content here.

I'm surprised there isn't more interest in Zorko this pre-season. A guy who's been at premium mid status for 3 of the last 5 seasons. A guys who has missed a total of 6 games in the last 8 seasons! Only in 8% of teams which I'm sure will get a bump if he plays well in the preseason games at his price compared to some of the other FWD options.

Yes the obvious concern is the transition into a timeshare role between FWD and MID. Two things here, the guy is a bloody elite midfielder - he'll be in the guts when games need to be won I feel. Secondly he's very good around the goals - not only can he bag 3 or 4 on his day, his forward 50 disposal efficiency and tackling pressure is elite.

Love the fact he can go nuclear and score 150+, he's every chance to start the season red hot.

I'll believe the move to the forward line when I see it!
