I'm outside the west coast bubble, but I've always had this feeling that Sheed has always been a bit "on the edge" despite his heroics in a certain match in 2018 and a decent 2019.

Could there be a bit of an arm wrestle between Sheed and Duggan for that final spot in the midfield rotation if Duggan keeps performing at the level he appears to be currently?
Agree with this. Sheed can play more forward and will be fwd/mid whilst Duggan will split more def/mid. Don't forget with less rotations all mids likely to see dilution of time in mids and more players rotating through.

Witherden could be a more aggressive half backer or could split time between 3-4 players. There are about 8-9 defenders at WCE.

Bit like Tim Kelly coming to Eagles, Withered has role risk just as he can be prolific. scorer.

The question is, with the extra space, will the designated kickers (particularly those with "long" legs) be more likely to kick long? A long kick is going to score more SC and will score points regardless if it results in a mark (as long as it's not picked off by the opposition) but by kicking long, the opportunity for slooty chipping around is reduced. My gut says the defensive mindset of most team rules will see the space used to maintain possession with the long kick still being the last resort.

If only Fletch was still playing......

I might have to look a little deeper into defenders who missed alot of last year and are usually the kick in players. GWS is the interesting one with o***eason departures. Howe could be handy again.
Howe is in my team, averaged 120 till he did his PCL and Medial last year, priced at 97, played in a match sim last week.

Anyone looking at Hayden Young@ $279,400 in defence ?
Freo has an easy early fixture and Young looks to be sharing kick outs with Luke Ryan .
Had him in my first team, and most iterations since. Likely starter for me, underpriced based on an injury affected score, but still not given the full discount on his starting price. Similar to a previous comment, it will depend what other defender rookies are available - if there's enough good rookie options I'll likely bypass him.

Yes, but wonder whether Cumming will have an even high share of kickouts at similar price. Harmes may outscore him, but a bit worried on role given comp. If >3 rookies I'll absolutely field all 3.

Peoples thoughts on Harmes? He’s said he’s going back to the midfield, where he averaged 95 in 2019 and scored well in the second part of 2018.

Can he go back to the same level with Petracca now a pure mid and a fitter Viney than there was in 2019? Seems harder and like he’s going to be 4th or 5th in line (with Brayshaw) for CBA’s instead of 3rd like he was in 2019. Is there also still a risk he’s dropped ?

Only one whole season of 95, is it a stretch to think he goes back there ? Or could he be viewed as similar to Brodie Smith 2019? (Still don’t know if he was a good pick that year) who has keeper potential but should at least make cash averaging mid 80’s.

Yes he's awkwardly priced but he has that laser-like left foot .
With kick outs and contested marks I think he can average 85?
That's probably a little too dependent on him getting enough kick outs for mine at this stage - also not sure how many contested marks he will be taking (was this meant to be intercept marks)?

Definitely on the list with the uncertainty around a lot of rookies and the change to team selection, but the price is a bit off-putting mostly because Ryan is there and he's pretty much the top dog in the Dockers backline.

Good stepping stone I’m really considering him over Duggan and bank the 100k
