It's been a real subplot in the commentary, the Indians as you can imagine are fiercely protective of their ability to prepare whatever kind of minefield they like, Sunil Gavaskar said something like "nobody complained when England prepared a green mamba at Trent Bridge and rolled Australia for 60".
Which leads to the bigger question, it's one thing that each country has its own natural characteristics in its pitches, but is it a good thing for Test cricket that a captain or coach can get in a curator's ear or is it just part of the country's home advantage? In that Ashes series I remember England changing tack quite dramatically after getting smashed at Lord's!
