I'm confused with Rozee's foot. Serious enough to go all the way interstate to see a specialist, but his foot is not bad enough to play against the Crows

It was reported that Rozee's 'heel' injury limited his impact last year. So, if the club will continue to monitor and manage the issue, does that mean he will have limited impact this year also?

I hope the practice game tomorrow will give some answers.
According to the bald headed Port Adelaide man on the News it is a new joint issue and not connected to last season's issues at all.

I understood that he was seeing the surgeon/doctor that did the operation as a 'follow up' which resulted in the travel interstate.

I had the kid in my side since it opened but recently changed him to Caldwell. Might change it back after tomorrows practice match.

Nick Murray playing for Crows. Lets hope he doesn't follow his brothers lead.

Where does he fit in ?

Hamling & Pearce back

Conca , Cox , Logue , Ryan , Young , Wilson
At least we will get an idea of where he stands. Whether he plays only a quarter or a half, or if it’s a more substantial amount. Rather Hamling and Pearce be in there so we get a proper representation of things early.

That's true , hopefully it is more than a reward for a good pre season.

Named 27 , their website doesn't list the notable absentees.

I believe Cox is the backup tall defender/ was a fwd so can play either end.

Hamling when fit is automatic best 22/ Pearce also but has missed so much footy. Logue the other option - I think they play 2 of those 3, Ryan becomes the 3rd tall.
Conca has stated he looks like playing as the lockdown small defender playing on the most dangerous fwd.
That leaves Young/ Wilson/ Chapman for the last 2 spots - reading reports I think Young is a lock, he & Ryan sharing kick in duties.
Wilson has been inconsistent the last few years, I think Chapman is pressing hard/ another strong performance tomorrow will further press his claims for round 1.
Most teams pick 7 defenders for games with the rotations, so Chapman will also be right in the mix for one of those 4 spots. My opinion anyway - kid is a huge talent, watching the vision of him you can’t help but be impressed.

Obviously Estimated SC Score is not an exact science, given there is so many other statistical categories that go into producing a SC score, scaling and game situation factors, etc. FWIW from closely rewatching the game and specifically these players, gut feel is Walsh and Cripps scores are pretty well ballpark in my eyes, maybe Williams feels 10-15 overs, Heppell maybe 5 overs, and Cahill about right, he was quite impressive on the watch back and with a couple more effective kicks rather than turnovers would've pushed a 70 type number.

I was pretty strict on the ineffective kicks and also what constitutes a tackle in the stats sheet throughout. As I tried to judge everything as best I could based off my learnings over the years from my mate who works as a stats caller for CD.

Seems about right to me as well, Williams to me would have scored very well from his forward time.

Also love that I said half a dozen marks for Walsh and 4 marks for Williams. Did you do Merrett out of curiosity?

Just reading through your summaries, seem pretty spot on to me. It looks like our opinions were relatively similar on those five players that I did the numbers on. No unfortunately I only did the five, I would've liked to have done Caldwell and Dow, but had to stop somewhere or otherwise I'd have been there all night hahaha. I do agree, Merrett had a really nice role. Will be interesting to see what happens when McGrath comes back in, if Merrett keeps that same role and genuine midfield time then he is right on the radar for sure.

FYI I think @KLo30 may have posted a link to the replay of the Tigers Dees game in the thread sometime earlier tonight.

EDIT: @wogitalia

Melbourne have Q2, 3 and 4 on their youtube channel, as well as match highlights. They were having technical difficulties earlier this afternoon uploading.

Wogi game summaries were legendary at FFC:cool:
When you don’t get a chance to watch a game they are invaluable.

I watched most of the Carl v Ess, agree with most of the comments. Little surprised on the Waterman ones though, for the limited time he had on the ground he certainly had a real impact/ looked the most dangerous bomber fwd when on the ground.
