ADELAIDE midfielder Wayne Milera has suffered a serious knee injury in the Crows' trial match against Port Adelaide on Saturday.

While scans are still required, Adelaide is fearing the 23-year-old has suffered a suspected ruptured patella tendon, which could rule him out for the season.

Milera has had a rough trot with injury, suffering a stress fracture in his foot in round two last year, eventually ruling him out for the season.

More to come
Took him out if my team this morning pre injury but disappointed for him.

MIXED NEWS ON STAR CROWS PAIR

Adelaide is set to receive a major boost with the availability of defender Tom Doedee, but the news isn’t as good for tall Daniel Talia.

Doedee has spent time in the rehab group nursing a groin injury, but coach Matthew Nicks believes a return is not far away.

“We‘ll still make a decision around that, whether he plays in our SANFL side or whether we bring him straight in against Port Adelaide,” Nicks said on Sportsday.

“Hopefully we can get a look at him. It’ll give us that little bit more experience behind the ball because at the moment we’re playing with quite a young, enthusiastic backline — and with that comes inconsistency in performance.“
