Reckon Flynn is ahead, Briggs struggled to run out the quarters to my eye and only 75 TOG with no backup ruck supports it pretty strongly.
I'll probably go the Flynn/Meek combo if both are named round 1, which I'll start has just become really interesting though, probably Flynn given the Gawn matchup for Meek but probably Meek after that. Gawn in round 1 is as good as it can be if you have to face him in the first 10!
I'll be picking him but bear in mind GWS have Daniels and Hill both out at the moment. Last year Langdon was a worse option than either of those two, but injuries forced GWS to play him so it's not like his departure actually opened up a spot. Once Daniels and/or Hill get back I'd expect Bruhn to be the most likely to drop out.
It's not an extended bench. The 4 bench players/75 subs still applies. The other 4 on the bench can be used to replace anyone on field, but once you get subbed out, you are done for the day.
NMurray 102k def rookie is good news but how frustrating that he lock out at 4:35pm on the Saturday just two hours or so before confirmation of whether Highmore plays.....

The coaches would factor in the fresher legs of the subs coming in, so you'd find the guys coming in getting more TOG than would otherwise be expected.
Just some info on Tanner Bruhn,Falcons kid who basically missed 12 months pre covid with a knee injury.
He was very much a contested mid as a junior but as we saw yesterday he is silky skilled too.
Anywhere else but Giants would be in the mid rotations imo but they can barely fit Tom Green in there so having played no footy in 2.5 years, not so sure.
Or it could be "Jacob you kicked 6 goals in a pre-season game which is a good start, but we'd need to see you do it in a second official televised pre-season game at AFL level before we could consider you for selection, so at this stage we're aiming for round 1 ... next year."
