I would consider replacing Brownless with Waterman and Bianco with Jones (if he looks like playing) if you didn't want to break a prem. Hopefully the rookies start becoming clearer soon...

Looking at this side..

88k left.. could prob use that somewhere.

Laird, Ridley, Stewart, Docherty, Jones, Cox, Gould, Highmore

Neale, Oliver, Fyfe, Cripps, Heppell, Powell, Downie, Gulden, Campbell, Mead, Berry

Gawn, Grundy, Flynn

Danger, Heeney, Daniher, Impey, Dow, Rowe, Treacy, Waterman

Would love some feedback. Seems a good mix of growth/risk/conservative/good dividends (premiums)

Cheers!

Yeah I like it, pretty similar to mine structure wise at the moment.

For me I didn't like what I saw of Cripps, reminded me of the ****e he produced last year, looks leaner which I don't like either.

Heeney I'm not liking the role he'll play this season but both just as likely to prove me wrong and be great buys. I hate players though that are doing just enough to not trade but not good enough to be in the top level of each line.

Thanks mate!

Yeah, I get what you mean re. Cripps and Heeney. For me, the addition of Williams could add a little bit of points sharing from Cripps. I'm hopefully going on the assumption Carlton fall to their usual mediocrity (I know the irony of being an Essendon supporter here) and that some games will be slogfests..

Heeney is a tough one as well. Potential is there, but with talk of Mills playing MID (who knows with Longmire though lol) thats prob less midfield time for him.

I could go to Dusty, but he is very up and down with his scoring... Can hit 150, but can also throw in a low 70's.. LOL

I actually thought Dusty looked the best I've seen for a preseason Thursday night.

I was also a bit puzzled.

Parker has reached a 110 average just once in his career and that was back in 2016.

I would have thought it would be quite difficult for Parker to hit 110 this season but interested to hear the response.
last season he hit 106 avg, with one 45 (injury/rain effected) and 2 70 scores (where he played a bit out of position) wouldve hit 110 otherwise

he is a contested posession and tackling beast, if longmire told me right now he would be playing pure mid all year (not large stints forward, to allow younger players) he would be my first picked

obviously i would like some sydney supporters information on whether they think he will be playing pure mid, or if florent and rowbottom will be taking over

Alright, to me I wouldn’t say that means he will easily reach 110 this season.

He certainly could hit 110 though and would be an excellent POD pick if that were the case.

Trust your gut on a pick like that.

For $571k you would want him to get 110 I reckon. If you pay that and he repeats 106 I don’t think that’s a win. For $40-$50k more you can get into Bont/Fyfe territory where you know they will get at least 110.

Sydney aren’t a great side anymore either. He’s been around a long time and better players than him have not crossed that 110 barrier consistently.
Explain away/ take out the 3 worst scores of other players and you would also have the potential to add 5-10ppg but the reality is even the best of them through up a few bad scores every year. You have to factor that in. For Parker that’s exactly why he’s never been that solid mid premium.

Not sold on it. He certainly could and I wouldn't be surprised but he's probably still going to rot up forward because Horse thinks he's a good forward for some reason.

Really would have to be pretty high on Sydney to think there's a huge case for improvement.

The other positive you didn't mention could be Hickey, if he can be even just poor he'll be a massive improvement on what Sinclair dished up last year which at least gives the midfield a chance. Having said that, I don't expect Horse to change so he will setup for controlled losses at the stoppages, we wont try and win the ball and will instead position to direct where the clearance goes so we can setup in our defensive 50 to play from there because Horse logic... It makes it really hard on our midfielders these days to score well when they're clearly being directed not to win clearances unless it's wide open by accident.

Probably missed some but 5 premium defence , Gawn & Grundy + 23 rookies gives you about $ 2 million to play with (4 Premium mids)

5 PREMIUMS + Butts / Briggs * , Koschitzke

Tyson , Clark * , Dow * , Campbell * , Bruhn , Powell , Jordon , Brockman * / Downie , Gulden , McNeil

GAWN , GRUNDY / Flynn or Hunter or Meek

Ziebell , Daniher , Impey , Cox * , Cahill , Warner / Jones , Rowe

Just a matter of working who has the best JS , score capacity and make the most $$$

I don't think I'll be able to fully upgrade, it's still preseason and there's so many injuries, do we select endurance athletes? Anyway I've changed my team after each game, after viewing players roles. I've decided there's far too much risk in the forward rookies, especially with 3 or 4 having injury history. So I've added a couple of midpricers, including Orazio who also is injury prone, but I do like his role, plenty of supply coming his way.

i think you have too many ~ $300k players. I count 6. You should be able to take two down and two up at least.

Team strength, role, half forward and the comment from Cameron saying he's a Toby Greene clone, always wants the ball in his hands. Powell will be a fringe player in mid rotations. Let's see if Bruhn is picked round 1, as that could change.

Thanks Hondo, i know. I just think that rookies can't be trusted as much this year, would prefer some seasoned players, watching WC vs Freo, fatigue set in pretty early, Ryan was struggling early in the 3rd or was it end of 2nd. Quite a few injuries too. The $300k players can be used as stepping stones or downgrades if things go pear shaped.
