current midfield

oliver, merret, parker, brayshaw, cripps

really have no clue how it ended up here, someone please help ahaha
I've got 4 of those so yeah, great team :ROFLMAO: - think Zerret has flown under the radar a bit and could be a really good pick.

Parker doesn't seem to have a lot of upside though and he's the one I'd leave out. I know Walsh was flavour of the month and now people are jumping off but he can't have gone backwards that much as a player since second half of last year where he was storming around averaging 110.

I think the question in my mind is the addition of Williams, does it take some inside CP of Cripps and does he distribute himself rather than via Walsh. Walsh looked to be a connector last night def to fwd, is it his kicking or lack of options up forward that hurt him.

Finding myself leaning to a 4-0-6 midfield at the moment. Has anyone had much success with this setup in the past? I’ve pretty rigidly batted 5 deep in my starting sides over the years but I can’t seem to get away from this setup with how the rookie spread looks.

Same.

Usually a 5 deep mid man but looking increasingly like I’ll be a 4 deep mid man this season.

I also have Dangerfield though who I’m expecting to score and play like a 5th mid.

TGreen out for you......? That’s a bit surprising!

I wasn’t a huge fan of his role yesterday, spent a lot of time forward and I would have liked to see some more CBAs. Your boy Caldwell has pushed him out.

Danger at F1 is what has made me lean this way. I’ve somehow ended up with Taranto M4 to allow Clark at D5 and Caldwell at F3. Think it will be hard to make 4 solid upgrades with Taranto the likely M8 but the team just seems to feel better this way.

I think that will be deeper than most. Had 4-5 and now back to 3 expensive mids plus one of my forwards. 4 defender, 2 rucks leave 6 spots.

Given the last two spots need to be $400-500k to justify expensive rookies (7 above $175k), have chose forward line players, with none in the $260k-400k range.

Fair enough! Seemed like he had a good first half but then faded in the second, classic 2nd year player issue...

Caldwell not locked for me fwiw haha but still in contention. Ironically I may opt for Harmes just on structure. Hoping Highmore gets up though....

This is basically my setup right now. Would like to get Taranto up to a more premium mid but funds won’t allow it. He is the only mid in that price bracket that I’m remotely interested in. Still have concerns on his SC to DT ratio though.
