Do people like Impey? I can see reasons for Ziebell, Daniher, but struggling with him.

To be honest, I don’t know him all that well.
I think most, myself included, believe his type of player is going to gain a boost from the new stand rule. Nice run coupled with a precise short kick is suited to the half back role he appears to have.

Get a good look at him today and he’ll be a clear in or out, don’t think there will be any grey area surrounding him.

Appreciate that mate. I’m just staring at old SC scores on footy wire and feel none the wiser.

I do. Apparently looked good in pre-season matches/intra-club etc to date but today will be good to verify, even if it is against another team likely to be nearer to the bottom of the ladder than the top in North.

Averaging over 70 once in six full or close to full seasons isn't much to get excited about. Even though Hawthorn are talking about using him as an outlet off half back I'm still sceptical, the opportunity comes more from Hawthorn's lack of options than anything else. Even then I wonder if they wouldn't be better off backing Day and Hardwick.

Well he found a way to make you eat those words by doing nothing but creating a grey area

Yeah not ideal playing only a half but he’s an easy out for me based on the half he did play. Looked supremely average whenever he got near it and seems quite unsure of his role and where to position himself off the ball.

Harsh judgement on a half of footy but there are plenty of other options popping up so far.

There was an article on the fox sports site talking about Ziebell potentially being a liability down back which was true in some instances would hate to rely on Rowe or Brockman scoring well enough but I could move Campbell to f6 but then have no one in Ziebells price range in the midfield

Butters, t Phillips and de goey all looked really good. Which one can push that 100ave though?
De goey
Phillips goes back to the wing with Mitchell and omeara and Wingard coming back
De goey is the man behind pendles and Adams
Butters has a heap of players vying for mid time and I wouldn’t ready too much into yesterday’s game. They won’t play Adelaide every game

Even if he fails down back he's their captain, he's playing and he's been an 80+ player his entire career as a forward or mid.

I imagine it was David King writing the article also, he clearly has a vendetta against Ziebell for some reason, couldn't find even a neutral word about him all game, nevermind something positive. He could have run the length of the field and kicked a goal and King would have said he was being selfish .

He was really solid for mine and he's there for his leadership, intercept marking and offensive kicking (which was good) more so than to be a dour defender.

Must say only 26% of the poll with Danger is surprising. At his best is a 120-130ppg guy.
Watched a lot of him last year and he was simply in cruise control most of the season, hardly broke a sweat and rolled out a 113ppg season.
Bloke is an entertainer and will enjoy having crowds back. Will get a chance to roll out a few of his dramatic mid game injuries again.
Not the greatest pre-season but is reportedly ready to go. Lock for mine along with Dusty with all the uncertainty with the forwards.
Because you are very confident starting Dangerfield I have the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) by not starting him.
But I have another fear with Dangerfield, FOGI (Fear Of Getting Injured).

Dangerfield will be 31yo in April, many players over 30yo start to get the 'old age' injuries. Dangerfield has shown that it is so with a groin injury at the end of last year. That groin injury was serious enough to delay his fitness training for Rd1 by a month.
@wogitalia preseason game observation was "Dangerfield - Enormous first quarter, I didn't notice him in the 2nd basically at all, seemed to spend most of it off and spent the entire 4th quarter at FF from what I could tell........." that doesn't read like he is fit to me.

A slow start to the season looks possible, which could mean a price drop to trade him in later, but my FOGI leans me to not starting Dangerfield.

I wonder how much Treloar will push Dunkley out of the middle though, hmmm.
This.

It was all well and good when Dunkley was part of the four main mid rotations yesterday but when Treloar is back I believe that it will push Dunkley down to being that fifth mid.

I’m expecting all of Treloar, Bont, Macrae and Libba to have more midfield minutes than Dunkley when all five play together.

There are question marks on all of the mids at the Bulldogs in terms of how Treloar being there will impact on their output.

Bont, Dunkley, Macrae, Hunter, Libba, Bazlenka, Lipinski and Treloar all need to get their snouts in the trough and that's not even considering the kids and players like Wallis who rotate through occasionally.

The real problem here though is Bevo, as he traditionally doesn't do too well with giving players stable roles that best utilise their skill sets when presented with a bevy of options.

It definitely makes for a conundrum when assembling your starting premo group as normally we'd do Dunkley + 1 from the Doggies midfield without batting an eyelid.

Rowan Marshall’s availability would’ve really shook some teams up I reckon given he’s ability to cover for the R2 line
He was pretty much a lock for mine as a premo forwaed just with his price point and role / playing style as it stood.

The ruck cover was just the cherry on top, but losing Marshall does make non-Grawndy strategies more risky, especially if you're looking at a rookie R2.
