Mitchell still unlikely.
Wingard on target for round two. Which is a bit of a concern for Brockman possibly.
I thought Chad may have been out a bit longer than that, so that is good news. Hopefully "Kent" Brockman can justify his spot with a good game against the Bombers, as he seems to have a lot of potential.

Couple of pieces of Hawks info...

Impey got a cork, no risk taken. 100% fine for round one. Gunston a round six at best proposition, so looks like Kosi will get a fair run at it.
Thanks @Goodie's Guns that's comforting re: Impey. tbh i'm surprised he's been jumped off so quickly. Not far off a lock for me

Edit: OK lock is a bit strong but he's not my hardest pick atm

ESSENDON defender James Stewart will miss at least two months after scans revealed a serious hamstring injury stemming from Saturday night's loss to Geelong.

The Bombers had initially hoped the 27-year-old had escaped with hamstring tightness before further assessment revealed a more severe setback.

It is a blow for the club's new-look backline with the 195cm Stewart earmarked to play a key role in defence this year after previously spending most of his time at Tullamarine in attack.

With Cale Hooker moving forward and Michael Hurley sidelined indefinitely, it is likely to open the door for young defender Brandon Zerk-Thatcher to fill a void in defence.

Zerk-Thatcher was an emergency for Saturday night's AAMI Community Series clash against the Cats.

Patrick Ambrose is currently working back from a foot injury and will present another option when fully fit, while top-10 pick Zach Reid continues his development.

Forward-turned-defender Jayden Laverde can play tall in defence, while the Bombers have moved skipper Dyson Heppell and Ned Cahill back in the shake-up under full-time coach Ben Rutten.

Recruit Nick Hind will also play an important role at half-back with the ex-Saint cleared of shoulder damage after a heavy hit against the Cats.

Treacy I think will be the man to replace Lobb so they keep their structure & can give Meek relief in the ruck.
They could also try a Hamling type forward if they aren't sure Treacy is ready. Let's hope the cyclone gets his chance! I never would have thought he was going to play when i first whacked him in my team at R3 all those months ago haha

I wonder if Meek could play the fwd ruck role when Darcy comes back?

Hamling is a gun fullback, can't see him moving.

Cox maybe but he has been so good in defence I would be surprised.

JL is a defence first coach, he believes that a strong defence is the cornerstone of a quality team so he would be loathe to make changes to his backline in my opinion.

Treacy looked very good the previous practice games & has been impressive at preseason training - he looms as the logical Lobb replacement.
