Be curious to see your team
Not sure on the JS of rookies but:

Laird 99
Daniel 141
Stewart 133
Short 165
Cox 32
Koschitzke 130
(Highmore, Fyfe)

Neale 101
Oliver 0 (Brockman 80)
Macrae 158
Merrett 126
Campbell 85
Powell 40
Downie 57
Gulden 77
(Mead, Brockman, Scott)

Gawn 102 (C)
Grundy 118
(Flynn)

Dangerfield 94
Dunkley 170
Ziebell 107
Warner 89
Fullarton 65
Bergman 77
(Rowe, Treacy)

EDIT: Actually 2348, somehow added an extra point to Dunkley's score lol.

I need to find an outlet for the extra $$$ I have sitting around but I just don't have the guts to pull the trigger on a mid-pricer.

I reckon there will some tough weeks relying on Cox and Kosi on field with only Highmore and a donut on the bench. That's where I'd be putting any spare cash. Looks good though.

Strong structure , like us all will be hoping on the rookies.

Nice balance to each line as well and your 12 premiums are pretty much all "real" premiums.

A couple of years ago Aaron Hall had 9 votes after the first 3 rounds.. where did he end up? Wasn’t his first 3 games but still.. they started the year with 3 (maybe 4) straight wins and then went MIA for the rest of the year. Who’s to say Rowell’s scoring wouldn’t have been more 90-95 as the losses added up last year? It’s a long season and even longer now we’re back to full length quarters.. can he back up his contested style week after week for 20+ weeks? Big ask on a young body

Not by any stretch saying he’s not a good player and rules are made to be broken (Dusty with 3 norm smith medals springs to mind) but it’s a lot of cash to invest on an unknown quantity.
Aaron Hall had played over 60 games before that happened. There is something very different that Matt Rowell is bringing to the table with how he started off last year, and he did enough last night in 70% game time to suggest he's over the shoulder, and could post a 110 in his second year (enough for an M8 - which then makes him a bargain). Fyfe went 108 in second year, shows it's in the realms of possibilities.

I need to rewatch the games for J. Clark's role as it looked healthy and I think if his JS is stable he could definitely average mid-80s. I feel like he has to make a big case for himself to not be a victim of Duncan's return to the side though. The alternative is H. Young but I'm just not convinced. Highmore out gives me $290k to spend on a def and I feel like there's value in that range but I would have to nail the pick.

Definitely not saying it's impossible.. just when I weigh up what we know about him as a footballer vs what we don't know about him, it's a risk I'm not comfortable with. I also try to avoid ever starting my team with an M8 as that is usually one of the easier roles to fill with a fallen premium if a compromise is needed, and last thing I want to is to end up with 2-3 M8 types..

The irony is before his injury last year people were debating whether he was even a season hold or not, and now it's whether he's a viable starter. Wild times!

Rightly or wrongly he averages 86 in losses (excluding the Geelong game).. my point is that there is so many unknowns and more importantly, so many scenarios he isn’t proven in. Today’s game was just a great example of that.. all his strong scoring has come in wins when Gold Coast was well on top.

The history of SC is littered with players who only scored well in those scenarios and couldn’t back it up when the going got tough..
The game he scored 86 was due to lack of CBA’s.

Didnt see the game last night, was he playing only mids or rotating.

FWIW not currently in my team.

Seemed to be full mid, just beaten in the second half as the lions mids got on top. Probably hurt a little by scaling as his first half efforts would have been worth less given how the second half played out. Could also have been the longer quarters though as he has only really played under the shorter quarter conditions of 2020.
