Taylor Adams looks set to go......any thoughts from anyone on where he sits within the premium midfield options this year??
He can absolutely push 115+ but his durability is disastrous at this point and rushing back from hamstrings is a recipe for disaster.
I don't think he presents a great value to risk proposition on the back of an interrupted preseason given his history. He was one of my first picked though prior to all the issues so I definitely rate him as a scoring potential play.
I’m coming around to the Tyson pick personally. Bit of a shame this question got skipped over by most I reckon, seems plenty of coaches have been fairly quick to dismiss him and I’m not sure why. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been looking at my side for too long but I’m starting to see some good upside in him against the Danihers and Fantasias of the world.
Probably needs to keep that inside role to score well but he’s shown he can rack them up in the past when fit and in a decent role.
Is Daniher more likely to kick a big bag? Fantasia to have a 20 & 2 game or Tyson to have game where he pigs it up in an understrength midfield.
Finding it quite hard to split them at the minute.
They played without Dumont, Cunnington and Anderson who are certainly ahead of him and then Polec and Hall who are probably in the same group as him.
He played a wing/hf/mid role with the mid phasing lower with LDU back for game two which is a concern given they need to make space for their two best mids last year and their best mid who missed the season last year.
Throw in Phillips, who looks a future star and will play sooner than later I imagine and you've essentially got as many as 6 names that weren't in the game.
If Tyson can hold the spot and role he played, he's not a terrible pick, basically just has to score at previous levels.
I'm not sure he justifies the premium though, there's not a lack of options around in the mids and I don't think his JS is any better than most of the rookies and if he's pushed to HF then his scoring potential isn't any better either.
Just don't think we need to pay the extra price through the mids. Powell, Campbell, Dow, Downie, Gulden and Scott to me all present comparable scoring potential for cheaper prices given all look to have good roles and/or talent levels.
I haven't even considered Fantasia, maybe a mistake, but can't trust his body even though I really rate him as a player but he has the DEF status to at least justify him.
Daniher I think is a great pick but I've actually pushed him out of a couple of my recent drafts also, while I love his explosive scoring potential and think he will push 80 again this year if he stays fit, it's kind of the same story where cheaper guys may be available instead that offer a similar outcome.
Ziebell an exception for mine because he's got legitimate keeper potential given his scoring history and his role and thus he's just about my first picked, pretty sure he and Laird are the only two who've been in every iteration of my teams at this point across every single name.
