He can absolutely push 115+ but his durability is disastrous at this point and rushing back from hamstrings is a recipe for disaster.

I don't think he presents a great value to risk proposition on the back of an interrupted preseason given his history. He was one of my first picked though prior to all the issues so I definitely rate him as a scoring potential play.

They played without Dumont, Cunnington and Anderson who are certainly ahead of him and then Polec and Hall who are probably in the same group as him.

He played a wing/hf/mid role with the mid phasing lower with LDU back for game two which is a concern given they need to make space for their two best mids last year and their best mid who missed the season last year.

Throw in Phillips, who looks a future star and will play sooner than later I imagine and you've essentially got as many as 6 names that weren't in the game.

If Tyson can hold the spot and role he played, he's not a terrible pick, basically just has to score at previous levels.

I'm not sure he justifies the premium though, there's not a lack of options around in the mids and I don't think his JS is any better than most of the rookies and if he's pushed to HF then his scoring potential isn't any better either.

Just don't think we need to pay the extra price through the mids. Powell, Campbell, Dow, Downie, Gulden and Scott to me all present comparable scoring potential for cheaper prices given all look to have good roles and/or talent levels.

I haven't even considered Fantasia, maybe a mistake, but can't trust his body even though I really rate him as a player but he has the DEF status to at least justify him.

Daniher I think is a great pick but I've actually pushed him out of a couple of my recent drafts also, while I love his explosive scoring potential and think he will push 80 again this year if he stays fit, it's kind of the same story where cheaper guys may be available instead that offer a similar outcome.

Ziebell an exception for mine because he's got legitimate keeper potential given his scoring history and his role and thus he's just about my first picked, pretty sure he and Laird are the only two who've been in every iteration of my teams at this point across every single name.
Agree with most of this. Although regarding Ziebell, surely his prior scoring in exclusive midfield roles has almost 0 correlation with his ability to score as a defender?

Would you use Grundy's 130+ scoring history to suggest a similar output if he were to play on a wing? Sure there are more attributes transferrable between midfield and defense but you get the point.

Ziebell has scored 90+ as a forward and as a midfielder and he fits the profile of elite scoring defenders to a tee. You seem to trash his kicking but statistically he's at the Dustin Martin or Josh Kelly level and I don't know anyone who would argue that kicking from half back isn't a considerably easier task than midfield or forward. He's taking kick-ins which are generally worth in the 15 points a game range on a conservative estimate. He also kicks long a lot so that's going to inflate the stats and is, again, easier to do from defense and actually a genuine tactic as opposed to bombing into a forward line. I don't know, I've never watched Ziebell and thought he's a bad kick, in fact I've always thought of him as a pretty good kick, decision making could be better but technically a good kick.

Basically I think Ziebell can quite easily put up a career high this year, wouldn't surprise me at all if he broke 100 as the main intercept defender taking kick-ins. The only real comparisons for that role last year are Ridley, Sicily, Ryan and Howe with May, Mills, Stewart and Haynes kind of falling halfway in between as strong in one area and doing a bit of the others. Also going to be a boat load of supply in that back-line. Now maybe he doesn't end up the intercept or kick-in guy but still pretty happy to say he'll be mid 80s as he'll still get some of both and is one of the better one on one mid sized players and it's hard to understate how little kicking they have down back.

There's one obvious risk being his durability but even that tends to be a bit easier in defense where you can be a bit more reactionary in your actions which tend to put a bit less stress on the body and really if he averages 95, which is ball park my expectation, then even then he only needs to make it to round 10 and he's still a resounding success.

Anyone else 'off' Cripps? Is there better value elsewhere for similar or lower price?
I'm thinking about it. He's played 2 full years in 7 and often plays injured like Heeney. Just had another check up after the preseason game. Relies on stoppages while the AFL is trying to reduce them and is spending some time forward this year and sharing with more mouths to feed at Carlton. I think he beats his price and probably gets to 110 average but what does he aggregate and how much value is really there?

I've had Petracca and Steele in my team since SC opened. But with the new stand rule, is this really going to affect Steele drastically (crystal ball)? And Trac looked average in their pre season game against the Dogs, who looked awesome. Other options are Fyfe, Jelly, Oliver, Bont. Already have Neale, Macrae and Merrett. Could go Cripps and Walsh, then beef up D5 somehow

This is too hard, lol.
As well as the ruck conundrum to deal with.
I think if you had Petracca you're not omitting him from a game with 90% of their midfield out surely, he looked a million bucks the week before with their midfield stronger, Steele is an interesting one for me, didn't feel like he did alot but still ended on 101, real nothing performance but you'd think his elite endurance base suits longer quarters and will have to carry the side a bit early without Crouch for a fortnight and no Jones and Hanners.

If it's worth anything North fans don't seem to rate Tyson very highly - some of them have him on the bench in their best 22 and others don't have him in there at all.
To me hes a consistent 75-95 scorer for 240K, if hes getting named Round 1 he should be in alot more than 6% of sides for mine, theres a whole chunk of mid rookies where they are either on the fringe or playing roles not conducive to scoring well.

Missed 2 games in last 3 years is the other way to describe his durability.

Think 21@110 is fair. I'm more bullish but also not in a position to turn my nose up at those numbers for 523k.
