Not to poke fun at the guy himself but the role...
Bombers "head of high performance"? Wonder what his KPIs are?
I think you quoted the wrong message, but I did notice he has the same name as the autistic doctor on The Good Doctor. Maybe someone was a fan of that show who hired him? High performance and Essendon don't really go together in recent years, so not sure how he justifies his role - KPI's must be non existent as you were alluding to.
Hawks head of strength and conditioning from 2012. Joined Bombers end of 2019.

Carlton coach David Teague has confirmed former Geelong midfielder Lachie Fogarty and ex-Bomber Adam Saad will make their club debuts in Thursday night’s season opener.

Although, the Blues coach stopped short of confirming veteran Eddie Betts (calf) would play.

“Fogarty will play and he’s been really good for us,” Teague said.

“His (Fogarty) pressure and the way to hold balance and give some really good system ahead of the ball and on ball has been really good for us.”

He was not so bullish on Betts, who was on the track at Ikon Park on Wednesday morning in a bid to face the Tigers.

“He’s doing well,” Teague said.

“He’s put his hand up and he’s trained hard.

“We’ll have to have a look at our mix again and we’ll see who’s pulled up today and we’ll finalise it after today’s run.”

The Blues also expected talls Levi Casboult and Harry McKay to play.

Club doctors must provide the AFL with a medical certificate on the first working day after the match as evidence the substituted player sustained the injury.
Any club found to be breaking the medical substitute rule can be sanctioned "for conduct unbecoming, or prejudicial to the interests or reputation of the AFL, or to bring the game of football into disrepute".

So now a club doctor has to decide on the spot without any further scans or other diagnoses whether a player coming off with tightness or a minor niggle will miss the next game?

This is gonna be funnnnnnnn....

So if a team has more than 1 game ending injury they are still short on their bench , so what's the point of having one injury sub at all ?

If a player is taken off for concussion can the sub be used straight away or do they have to wait for the 20 minute testing as confirmation ?

This is the bit that I struggle with, where do we draw the line? Why not have a dozen blokes on the bench?

To be eligible for a medical substitution, the club doctor must decide that an injured player will be unable to play a game in the next 12 days.
Concussed players must already sit out a mandatory 12-day recovery period under new protocols introduced by the AFL for the 2021 season.
And the doctor has to decide this right there on the spot??? Without any sort of CT/MRI scans? How can one be sure if a player "can't play" for 12 days? Some players can heal/recover quicker than others
