Without commenting on the other mid priced players (you’ve got way too many) I see Chayce Jones in your midfield. Don’t do that to yourself.
Thanks I did think it looked a bit thin on the ground , have re- selected the team a couple of time since my last post . Going for the cookie cutter method

That’s a good option to start with. Plenty of time to change your team over the season.

Current team before rookies drop. If enough fwd rookies present may go Daniher to rookie to try and go Philips to Dusty, but not too fussed there, hopefully gets lots of mid minutes at Hawthorn. $2,100 remaining.
Scott looking like a shaky rookie at present and no cash to upgrade him, so we will see! Could be a donut. View attachment 27205
Any feedback welcome!

Team looks good mate (haven't checked byes etc)

Love it Herbie and as you've been one of the main proponents of inventive ruck combos this preseason I'd love to see you run with it and go well.

But surely you don't prefer Kosi on field over Campbell? And you're betting on Flynn so why hedge with Briggs? You could move Laird back and replace Briggs with powell to get better on field rookie and better cash cow (imo).

Really like most of your premo and breakout picks. Can't get on board with Boak and Zorko but know you've been keen on them for a while so wouldn't try to talk you out of it.

I'll be following it closely. Good luck!
I'm thinking of keeping Zorko in my squad and pocketing the extra cash

Got Dangerfield already and am riding Phillips to be the 6th forward by season's end. My targets are currently from Dunkley, Dusty, Sidebottom and Marshall.

Dusty often gets off to a slow one, much like his Tigers. They know when the business end of the season is and prepare accordingly. He may come out with a stronger start than usual but excesively so? Doubt it.

Dunkley has massive upside but also has Treloar coming in to his midfield rotation. That simply has to impact on him. It's ok. Treloar may have escaped teh Holden Centre Chop Shop but his hammies and calves will still be suffering from the 5 or so years of brutalising they copped from our 'experts'. Dunkley will get his midfield minutes at some stage this year.

Marshall and Sidey are both injured. Sidey also probably overpriced at his age.

Meanwhile Zorko is priced about where he's been at. Maybe a couple of points under. Tends to play the full season and unlike Dunkley, has a bit more midfield room with Rayner going down. To top it all off, he's only in 10% of teams.

Hey all, This is the current team I am sitting with at the moment. Gone for the very risky ruck setup which has allowed for cash to be spent elsewhere. Have Briggs in defence as security in case something happens to Flynn. Open to any recommendations. Have 43k in the bank.

I don't know about Howe this yeah, Johnsy. That was a sickening injury he copped last year and he turned 30 last year.

Not sure about Doc either. Such good value on what he producing prior to the knees but... prior to the knees.....

Reckon Howe and Doc will give you a decent POD against the hardcore players. Heeney as well, let alone the triple ruck situation you've got going on there. Someone mentioned with another team that with all that risk in the ruck line, did the other person want to double down on risk on other lines. Probably worth you asking yourself the same question. You are also carrying Fyfe for a couple of weeks off at some stage too.

And Flyn Macrae is almost certainly a donut to start. Briggs won't be selected R1 either

What's your exit strategy? You've got 2k left in the reasonably likely event that Briggs, Durdin, Jordon or Bergman don't get selected or are dropped early? Scott may also find his place under pressure when Treloar returns, as most of the squad moves one space to the right.

Hey mate, appreciate the reply. Understand the concerns on Howe, wasn't able to see him play preseason but 90SC in 67%TOG looks very decent, however, I understand it is likely he may miss a few games.

With Doc, I just feel the addition of Saad will help. Saad will obviously be another player competing for those points when rebounding 50, but I feel Doc will be able to play more freely than last year when teams started playing defensive on him. Fyfe is one im considering downgrading to Taranto but am undecided at the moment.

Macrae was just a placeholder for now, until teams are announced, will likely swap him for Warner.

The concern with Howe isn't so much the missed games. Bucks is coaching for his contract this year and will want all senior hands on deck. He's also not the kind of coach to change a habit any time soon. The issue with Howe is that he is full price for damaged goods. He is currently priced at 97 ppg and other than the 4 games last year (120ppg) he has not maintained that over a full season.

He may do ok. It has been like... 10 or 11 months or something and he did look good against the Tiges. But at rising 31, it is unlikely that he will give you value for money

I would include Fullerton, if selected, in the forwards so he can be subbed into the rucks, in a trade ,in an emergency.

Strategy is to wait and see with rookies, generally some ones we haven't been tracking bob up, so hoping we see that.
If that's in the forward line will have to move Daniher down to a rookie to allow for rookie corrections. Or move Campbell to fwd line if there are more midfield rookies for Daniher.

O'meara and Zorko pretty big PODs - what are your thoughts there?
Heeney I'm worried will be stuck too deep forward with buddy and his scoring will be inconsistent

I like the Howe pick I really wanted to pick him

Hey all! Here's what I've mustered together, gone really heavy in the backline. No Lloyd, Neale & Gawn is very sketchy, but allows for potentially 14 keepers. Would love to hear some feedback, and maybe be convinced to go for a slightly safer team :)

Just feel like Jaeger is ready to take his game to the next level, has shown many positive signs over the years but think this may be his year, can see a similar situation to Petracca last year. Have always liked Zorko and think he might be a decent POD this year, think the inclusion of Daniher will definitely help him.

I have the same worries for Heeney myself and am toying between swapping Fyfe and Heeney for Taranto and Dunkley. Howe is one I am not completely sold on after his big injury last year, but am looking to try start him, think is between him and Short.

Looks really good to me. Butters could be a trap though imo.
