The clear solution is to make the injury sub run on a treadmill so that they are equally fatigued when they come on
..and pushed off it every 5 minutes to help simulate the batterring and bruising the players on field are feeling.
Have the two opposing injury subs on adjacent treadmills where they are allow to bump and niggle each other all game. Means it suddenly becomes a strategic selection... do I pick my backup ruck there to take out the opposing injury sub or face the consequences of a lumbering big man on field?

Jack Martin in doubt with a tight calf. Per Sen1116
There are rumours that Cripps is a bit sore and hasn't done a lot at training this week, he will play but he may spend a lot of time forward if Martin is out.

Does anyone know anymore if this is just the usual crap that we hear before round 1 or has this got some element of truth to it?

Rumour on the Carlton BF board that Durdin will debut.

Yeah I can back that up, a mate of mine is involved in recruiting at Carlton and mentioned last night that he was of the belief Durdin would debut with Martin to miss.

Interesting, he didn't play in the pre-season game so hard to know what to expect. Punt or not (if named)?
Unsure tbh, Fogarty has also been named to play R1. Not sure where the likes of Durdin fit in, with the likes of Betts and Gibbons to come into the side that didn't play the preseason. Durdin potentially sub?

More interested in the rumour that Cripps is sore. Queried several days ago if Cripps was ok to see if anyone knew anything on the forum but nothing substantial was available in terms of a source...

Did he say anything re Cripps?

The Durdin rumour on BF was via a Melbourne supporter. The talk now is that O'Brien will play. I wouldn't have thought Durdin and O'Brien would both come in to the side that played the majority of the game against St. Kilda.

How does the MRP view high contact that happens while in a treadmill rotation?

This might be unpopular, but they should just make it 16 on the field and 6 on the bench. Opens up the game without adding another ridiculous rule that is hard for the umps to officiate and solves the concussion sub issue at the same time. The game and fitness levels have come a long way since 18 on the field each was selected as the right number.
