Position SC 2021: Defender Discussion

Jeez I'd like to pick Isaac Quaynor this year. Went 82, 87, 79, hten slowed down as we hit our 4 games in 13 days spell, hitting 52 and 28 when getting his leg gashed open by a swan wearing metal spikes. Came back with 92, 64, 101 and 94 before succumbing to the season's fatigue along with his teammates (60 and 59 in finals)
Averaged 60 in his first year and 75 last year. Put out a 73 against the Tiges with 23 possessions at 78% and a half dozen kermits. He's usually a brilliant kick. Got too many midpricers in my squad as it is to be taking him on from the start, but will have him on my watchlist for sure.

If by full pre-season you mean an ankle issue, recovery from the calf that ended last year and cancer, then yep 
He's absolutely on my radar though. Short is one I really want to pick, actually wish he'd had a stinker in preseason so I could properly assess him without that recency bias and the fact I just love him as a player!

My personal ranking goes...
1. Lloyd - But the worst value as don't see him considerably above 112 this year.
2. Laird - Does have some boom/bust potential but think he's a safe play.
3. Ridley - Holy trinity with intercept, kick-in and rebounder roles.
4. Stewart - Not quite the intercept or kick that Ridley is but similar story.
5. Daniel - Tags are my concern as he's not going to intercept mark too often.
6. Short - Strong upside but the Houli concern is legitimate.
7. Mills - Huge boom/bust, feels like he'll either be 110 or 90. Which to me makes it more sensible to approach as an upgrade decision.
8. Crisp - Durability is huge bonus but Howe back is my concern.
Those are the 95+ guys for me but I also have Doch, Houston and a few others in my sights below that also!

I am positive I remember having him a few years ago and his clanger count was huge. Do you happen to have his DE% over 2017-2018-2019?
I remember been stunned as to how he could get 30+ touches every week and always put up 90-95's and the only stat I found that explained it was his clanger count.

His SC fluctuations are strongly correlated with his DE. I recall him getting high 70s/close to 80% in DE in 2018, but low 70s in 2019.
From watching the game, like I mentioned on the other thread, he's actually an exceptionally accurate and creative kick when given the space in the back half.
But once he shifts into the midfield (which he did in 2019), his DE just gets crushed as they are often rushed/hacked kicks from contests. And it looks like Bucks will keep him in defence despite our clear lack of midfielders and abundance of defenders. Regardless, can see him playing a loose half-back role with Moore/Roughhead handling the talls, and Maynard/Howe shutting down the mid-sized forwards.
