Yeap Typical Start, mess up the Capt Pick and have 2 tones on the bench.

***.........

Just watch Powell spud it up now.......

Cost me massive amount of points.

Took Fullerton over Turner and Jones over Rowe. Idiot.

Didn’t take Macrae score.....Gawn C . Dumb

Moved Gulden off the field when Powell was selected. Batting 3 for 0.

Danger will also miss next few weeks. Gut Punch.

Just LIVID.Garuentee it costs me my H2H matches.
H2H matches don't start until round 3.

Oh no just came home to see Gulden's 139 on my bench.... :ROFLMAO::cry:

Mills fantastic though :D and thanks to those who advised me to start Warner over Cahill. Was Cahill playing forward after a pre-season in defence??

Neale very disappointing given he wasn't even tagged, but at least it's not much lower than Gawn.

Every year in the first round i chose the 20-30 rookies on the field (brockman, cox, etc to name a few), like others, play the "conservative approach", hard games in Brisbane and Geelong means to me "dont field those rookies on the field", turns out its the exact opposite approach is required this year :D

1546/18+C. Rowe and Gulden on the bench. 2022 here I come.

Not sure what hurts more - this score, or Essendon's performance! Bergman, Powell, Taranto and Rowell to come. Will need to reassess my team, because not sure how I'm so far off the pace...

Was anyone else as bemused by that Swans-Lions game as I was? Bizarre spectacle that went from entertaining to alarming as it went on. It wasn't a contest in any physical sense for the most part, as anything of the sort resulted in a free one way or the other more often than not (or an obvious umpire error). I normally ignore rants about "it's oztag these days etc", but this time they might actually be right. Sure there's lots of skill on show in touch footy, it's fast and non-stop action. It's also not actually very entertaining.

Anyway, I'm 18/1665 (Gawn). Neale, Cahill, Campbell and Bailey (how did he managed to screw that up, should've been a 120 game) certainly aren't giving me good return on investment. Much like the Lions, I'll have to hope it's just a case of having a bad round one and bouncing back like last season.

Just once, it would be nice to get a good score on the first round.
If it makes you feel better, my two worst seasons were my two best round 1 ranks and my 2 best were just about he opposite!

Yeah definitely noticed that. The Swans applied very little pressure through the middle and the Lions applied even less.

On top of the obvious rule changes designed to make it more like netball I've noticed the umpires seem to be paying a lot more free kicks for in the back and high contact on the ground which is also reducing the stoppages.

Definitely felt more like a game of pong than football. Sam Reid hitting the goal post was just about the only real collision in the game!

17/ 1728 - Merrett (C)

Fielded Gulden but didn't field Rowe. I could increase that by 104 with Rowe and replace Bergman with a donut(Briggs/Oea). Don't know if it is worth it or not with Bergman at risk of being dropped next week for Hartlett. I didn't really want to start with a donut.

I would not chase the points personally, you had the correct players, but just not on field. Its a marathon not a sprint.

Bird in hand my man
