Basically got dicked around positionally playing too outside and on the wing for large periods of the seasons, even the first half of 2020 was similar.

Role was ultra consistent through preseason and in line with the way he finished the season last year.

Rule changes also would seem to favour him considerably.

Still no sure thing by any means but I think most that are taking him see potential value in a group that is, for the most part, pretty devoid of that.
Also, we are all about picking for durability when it comes to starting selections; Zerrett's missed 2 games in 5 seasons, and on recollection one of them was a result of being KO'd the week prior.

And the other one was because he breathed near Jack Silvagni's glass bones and one of the porcelain ribs shattered...

Potential replacements for Rowell?
An initial option I've thought of is Taranto. What is Parish's role at Essendon like? Will he be a consistent scorer between 90-100 this year?

Otherwise alternatively I can switch Laird/H.Sharp into mids and get ZWilliams in defense.
Really want Dusty but don't have the cash for it unless I make another trade (which I don't really want to right now).

Williams looks good to me, so long as you think he’s a 100+ type. A lot of people had him until his suspension.

Just to hijack your response would you still do this if it meant Williams was at D5 behind Doch at D4?

I was actually considering stepping down to Young (via Clark or Sharp DPP), and giving myself another week or two to decide which way to go after the first round of price changes to see who may be falling early. This would, however, leave me with only 4 mid premos (12 overall) and $350k ITB, which seems a bit too much to be taking off the field?

Doc D4, Williams D5 was my exact setup until Williams got injured (and even for a while after it). So long as you aren’t locking yourself into players who you believe are suboptimal keepers by a decent margin, I think it’s fine if not sensible, given the prices of those two players. Doc didn’t look that good on the weekend, and it’s possible the rule changes don’t help Williams’ chances of being top 6, but I probably wouldn’t be changing my opinions that much off the back of one round. Doc still scored well on Thursday and he had 27 in one of the pre season games. It seems like by far the biggest reason people jumped off Williams was his suspension, which is no longer relevant.

I think the key if trading Danger is to get another top keeper in, unless you’re very confident you’ve identified a strong breakout player, or you are already sure you need to restructure and he allows you to do that. The second and third options would be hard to be sure of at this point in my view.
