Currently running a 5 promo midfield with Ultra POD Jaeger at M6, Hopefully have decent rookies on other lines

Anyone else going without Short, Dusty and Cripps tonight? Makes me nervous, mostly still undecided on Short or not out of the 3..

I’m similar with Simpkin at M6 instead of Jagger. Assuming you either have 1 of or neither of Grawndy in the ruck?

Don't mind the Simpkin pick at all. A good amount of my premiums are very generic so really wanted to have a few POD's, Jaeger has been locked in my team since super coach opened.

Currently, have the Flynn/Meek/Hunter setup. Will be the make or break of the season

Having a look at the 3 rookie rucks for the first time this season as we speak. Definitely an interesting proposition but feel a little more comfortable hedging my best with Grundy. If all three can stick around for 4-6 weeks it will definitely pay off for you though!

Me - but I'm considering switching Ridley out for Short (who I really like - Houli notwithstanding) so I can fund Clark to H Young. Just thinking I prefer the safety of Young's JS even if the potential is less because the rookies are so poor. Prefer Dunkley to Martin and not sold on Cripps.

Likely Short, Doc, Cripps for me.
Cripps & Dusty (VC) for me
Currently dont have any. Have Howe instead of Short, Dunkley instead of Dusty and not sold on Cripps due to potentially spending too much time forward, especiallytonight gwithout Williams.. can see Short going bang, but hoping Howe outscores him..

What is the rationale behind starting Jaeger, is this a for fun pick
Just feel like Jaeger is ready to take his game to the next level, has shown many positive signs over the years but think this may be his year, can see a similar situation to Petracca last year (although likely won’t reach the same levels). Kind of a mix of both gut feel, and also to go against the grain of most coaches. Last time I looked he was only in 0.5% of teams

Players I can see benefitting are J.Kelly,T.Kelly, Duncan, Rockliff, Boak, Macrae, Neale, and Merrett.
I’m not sold on Cripps burnt me last year. I know we shouldn’t look to much in the pre season games. The game he played in looked like the Cripps from last year. Thoughts on this?
Yes, getting close to game time and getting nervous.

Have vision of him resting forward, and me screaming at the telly.

I have full faith Cripps will return to 2018/19 form, remember hearing preseason he is going back to do more of the inside grunt work. Has been in my side since day 1 and has not left (Biased aside ;)). Can't see him not comfortably going 110+, has great runners in Walsh and Williams around him now, will return back to the top of the clearance leaderboard

I think we all start to get cold feet around this time, have confidence in yr selections over the preseason and hold fast where needed. Nothing worst than changing a player you had all preseason to watch him gun it.
Good Advice and even better timing. Will stick with Cripps.

Can't have everyone BA - just back yourself in and best not to worry too much about everyone else.

I think you'll see high ownership on players that other years may not have been the case purely becuase of only one pre-season hit out.

I'm really struggling to convince myself that Merrett will be a certain Top 8 midfielder this year.

Why was he so average in 2018 & 2019? Are we sure he won't return to this form?
Who knows.

But got a pure Mid Role late last year when worsfold gave the reigns to Rutten. Age 25 right in the sweet spot for best ever year.

Basically got dicked around positionally playing too outside and on the wing for large periods of the seasons, even the first half of 2020 was similar.

Role was ultra consistent through preseason and in line with the way he finished the season last year.

Rule changes also would seem to favour him considerably.

Still no sure thing by any means but I think most that are taking him see potential value in a group that is, for the most part, pretty devoid of that.
