thoughts on andrew brayshaw ?
ive had him for the past month or so, but havent seen many others (which is good and bad)
with fyfe having to play more forward due to lobbs injury, i feel as if brayshaw will have to take control of the midfield, anyone else?
just not sure if im missing anyhting, or if there is just better options?
I'll just start off by saying he's currently in my team, but is probably the first one out in terms of a restructure.
Pros:
- Likely increase in CBA attendance rate
- Strong endurance
- Natural progression
Cons:
- When Fyfe, Mundy, etc are all playing, Cerra's increase in CBA attendance comes directly at the expense of Brayshaw's midfield time (look at last few games in 2020). Cerra is said to have drastically higher midfield time this year
- Brayshaw scores significantly higher WITHOUT fyfe.
- Fyfe is said to retain his mid-fwd split by Freo, and that they were looking for direct replacements for Walters and Lobb rather than pushing Fyfe forward more
- Fyfe looked like clearly their number 1 midfielder in the preseason games so far. Against better opponents, Fyfe WILL playin the midfield
- Brayshaw is usually a strong tackler, but has less opportunity with fewer boundary stoppages
Overall speaking, it's hard to gauge on whether his actual midfield minutes will increase or not, because of conflicting factors. The new rule changes also have both positive and negative impacts towards his scoring (endurance vs tackling). I am picking him atm purely for the natural progression and durability, as I'm not confident that other factors will necessarily be in his favour.
