So does anyone have any thoughts on how CD will deal with the medical sub and pricing of players next season. Eg player X plays 5 games and scores 300 points and then is medical sub for 5 games and never gets on the field. Given the player has officially played 10 games will CD consider his ave to be 30 for the season? And price him accordingly?

Is it worth taking the risk of going without Fullarton on Forward bench (I have the 3 rookie rucks) and picking a FD instead to get Rowe's score?
Would have Fyfe as FD in the middle otherwise to get Dusty's score as C

If you are going down that route already, it makes sense. Fullarton is not a must have and has JS issues with McStay not far away.

Cheers. Think I'll leave it now that Rowe has slowed and it would mean I wouldn't be able to play Warner on field who could similarly anyway. Fullarton gives me a get out clause for rookie rucks and Fyfe a def/mid swing with Laird and Sharp

I switched Fullarton out for Ely Smith

Hopefully Ely not far away... but Fullarton was on my bench anyway so happy to skip a playing rookie for the 100 tonight.... short-term thinking perhaps but no gurantees Fullarton plays when Mcstay is back (also ceiling is not that high)

After telling myself all pre-season there was no value in Lloyd/Neale I started both....... the pain.

+ Paying premium for Gawndy
+ Paying premium for Danger

Silver lining I've nailed just about every rookie, so any correction trades will be premium related at this stage.

These rule changes might end a few careers. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson did it in the NBA when they won championships with 3 pointers. Teams stopped looking for the long 2 point shooters.
If a stoppage is your bread and butter you're not worth as much.

I love this community, absolutely awesome bunch of very friendly and knowledgeable people. There are great people representing pretty much each and every club in the AFL, too.

Today though, I feel compelled to make a shout out to Pies fans on here. As a passionate Dons man who lives and breathes my footy, I'm meant to hate the Pies, and usually I do. But I've had some great interactions with the Pies supporters on here over the years, they are just a great bunch of people. Not going to name names, although I have a few, because I don't want to forget anyone. So to the Pies fans on here, you're a great bunch.

I hope your great club finds it's feet again soon. It's been a rough off-season but you're a great club and a proud club and I know you'll bounce back. Go well, but not too well ;)

Sorry. This is just taking the freindliness too far. I'm reporting you to the mods. 😄

One of the games I was watching they showed the kicking efficiency for AFL teams as 65.7%.

Won't me able to continue playing Kamikaze pinball style if you are turning it over a third of the time you kick it.

Don't think their was a lot of "science" forward either , just move it forward quickly without much thought to the target.

Not sure I actually enjoyed watching the new style game after game , as much as I hate the rugby style congestion , I actually hope the coaches find the right mix sooner or later.

Lack of tackling just makes it look like glorified circle work to me.

Unless you have the kicking skills of the Hawthorn side in their heyday I can't see this style being too successful.

Here are the stats from the WCE v Gold Coast game :-

But it can be very misleading as both teams were chipping the ball around in the backline a lot/playing keepings off.

Jack Bowes was literally impersonating Jake Lloyd yesterday.

If that is disposals though , kicking could be higher or lower.

I guess you really need to look at it for every team over every season.

Still think a lot of teams have about half a dozen players (maybe more) who are terrible field kicks , and are even worse the quicker the game becomes.

Well notwithstanding a few objections (which have been noted!), I am sure other Pies fans appreciate your sentiment Bomber.

Unfortunately some of Collingwood’s issues appear very much self-inflicted at this point, but hopefully we can bounce back sooner rather than later. Some of our kids seem to be pretty handy, so with a little luck we can give them a run soon, which will be good for the Pies and Supercoaches alike 🙂
