Far out. Completely smashed for the last 6 weeks at work, and now I'm here with a half done team, and barely a meaningful league. Looks like I'll be playing for ranking.

Will be studying very very hard tomorrow night....

Good luck to everyone for the new year, go well.

Perhaps you can test my long-held theory that you could put together a cookie cutter SCS side based on the Rate My Team thread, and set yourself up with a very solid base with very limited time invested!

My most random interaction with a footballer.

I worked for 3 weeks at Linacre Hospital in Hampton, as a stand in for a mate, who did the patients accounts.
Back then, a lot of AFL footballers got their knees done at Linacre.
On my 2nd day, I was sitting behind my desk, in my very small office, and an angry Gary Sidebottom walks in.
"What the hell is this!!" he yells, brandishing what appeared to be a scrunched up letter.
"Listen mate, I don't have anything to do with the bill, talk to the f%&$ing football club!!!"
With that, he turned around, and stormed out.
I just sat there completely stunned, thinking "hey, I didn't send you that letter".
He was a pretty intimidating figure, looming large and angry, in that small office.

Is there a trading game on this site at all? Ie all start with same starting team to see who can trade the best throughout the season.

Importantly, subbed off player will miss any games in the next 12 days by the sound of it: https://www.afl.com.au/news/563046/new-rule-reveal-afl-brings-in-medical-sub-ahead-of-r1

To be eligible for a medical substitution, the club doctor must decide that an injured player will be unable to play a game in the next 12 days.

I think this is the best we could have hoped for and will stop the rule being fully exploited.

I can see the tears already though when a popular player is subbed off, effectively missing at least the next game!
